He told everyone that he will be in charge from socks to jocks when he bought the team. Nothing will change for JJ as long as he is walking this earth. He wants a SB so he can say, "See, I told you, just be patient and good things will happen because I washed those jocks and socks". Oh, and by the way, it was not the Jimmy that won those SB's it was me because it is my team. Totally narcissist.
Yea, I guess I thought at some point he might take a step back. Most in their 80’s eventually pass the baton to their heirs . But not narcissists. It will be until his last breathe .

We think it’s embarrassing now . Wait until he’s in his 90’s doing interviews as GM. Lol

Jerrys interview: Everything is Fungible, indubidly, I like me sum **********. The buck stops with me. I want a SB really bad . Id write a big check if it meant WE would win another SB. Moral of the story, we heard 1 Jerry interview, haven't we heard 'em all? Can we cryogenically freeze him and leave him in a time capsule buried under the stadium?

No. We need to send his remains to Mars on a rover so we know for certain that he can never screw up this franchise again. At least not personally. Spawn will still be around.

Well, God forbid that he checks out soon, but even when he does, I'm not so sure his spawn will be any different. By the way, I forgot to tell the forum I hate looking at his son! Gives me the creeps.

Send him to Mars? You think those Martians would put up with his ego? Hell no.

That’s all fine and we can hope it’s enough but it doesn’t excuse him from criticism.
go back and double check my multiple posts - i said its fair to criticize him, and i have said that multiple times. I criticize him, but i also think there are far too many people that criticize only and fail to see the improvements or changes made in the last decade. He deserves a ton of criticism especially for the time from 1995 to the mid 2010's but the last decade has really improved. Does everyone really think that the team getting to where it is in drafting, player development and coaching staff (where it is now) has zero to do with Jerry? He finally has learned that in order to be good, one must surround himself with people that do what he cannot....he is a marketer and finally learned to bring in people like Mcclay and let them run the talent aspect, couple that with the coaching and the resulting drafts - and now you have a team that has the best group arguably in the last 2+ decades and a fair shot at a deep playoff run.

Criticism - yes
Credit where it is due - certainly

The improvements are arguably only in the last 2 or 3 years not a decade. If you want to include McClay as progress since 2011 then that progress hasn’t met its goals either.

Ultimately if these proposed improvements don’t culminate into greater success then it’s not . And we’d have to come to a conclusion based on the results that these improvements weren’t enough becoming more of the same simply wrapped differently.

And please don’t lump me in with others . If you’ve read all of my post here I have provided some credit. And you have provided some criticism.

I’m a Cowboy fan, and I’m well aware of Jerry’s shortcomings and the 27 years of Super Bowl failures. I’m just tired of crying about it. We now have the talent and coaching to win a SB, but injuries or officiating could still derail us, and the same people would blame the FO. I like to watch football, but I consider it a waste of time to stress over things I can’t control.

Indeed. Year 28 and counting. If the Lions and Commanders face off in the NFC Championship this season, no matter how unlikely, we will be the lone nfc franchise so inept we can’t mk the nfc championship in 28 consecutive seasons. Let that sink in.
It’s probably going to take a couple more decades of our current streak for this to sink in with all fans . 3 decades isn’t long enough. 4 or 5 decades maybe 50 years might be especially if Jethro is still at the helm as GM well into his 90’s.

I like their plan. They now have their team built. It looks like it is working.

I know Jerry has lost an entire generation of fans because a lot of the people my youngest sons age (22) could care less about the playoff irrelevant Cowboys. They haven’t won anything in his lifetime and as much as I tried to mk him a Cowboys fan, he never bought in. Kids growing up love winners and he became and still is a big Ravens fan. In my case, I simply won’t buy into any deep playoff run talk until we finally do it. Spock would agree with my logic.

That’s where I’m different. I don’t approve of those who don’t follow their local or regional teams regardless of their success. But we should call out their issues. Especially if it’s the one constant for 3 decades.

Sorry, I don’t agree. I think Spock would still be a fan of his Vulcan team if they suked:)

I understand. But we grew up in the golden age of the Landry Cowboys with a record 20 consecutive winning seasons and it was during those decades that Landry and Schram created a sports brand so durable that even a hillbilly from Arkansas couldn’t drive it far enough in the ground to lose most fans.

We differ in that I love the Cowboys as much as anyone, but it is really difficult to try to watch Jones put $$ over winning esp since winning would mean even more $$$.

I do know with 30+ years of trying to be a “football” guy, that Jerry doesn’t know anything about the NFL except he memorized the salary cap rules and taught Stephen how to memorize them too.

It’s hard to fault a kid that grew up in the worst 28 year playoff stretch in Cowboy history and think they should be a fan. You and I didn’t grow up in this new era of Cowboys playoff irrelevance so it’s hard to judge esp when our idiot owner still micromanages the hc and hires some of his staff for him.

I didn't lump you in with anyone, i don't know where you are getting that from - I said people on this site in my statement, i wasn't referring to you rather simply making the point that plenty of people that hate jerry on this site and no amount of change or improvement will do anything to change his view in their mind - i don't know where this is getting sideways, there was literally zero directed at you nor was i insinuating anything.
