He knows what is best for his own franchise run by he and his family. He already in the Hall of Fame for NFL effectiveness and achievements.

Jerry loves the NFL and his heart bleeds blue for the Dallas Cowboys. Always has and always will..
No, he doesn’t know what’s best for Cowboys Football. He knows what’s best for him.

No one is questioning his passion , love for the game and the Cowboys. He’s living out his dream to be a football celebrity guy. But all at our expense .

Winning championships isn’t enough if he isn’t the face of the franchise front and center. Typical narcissist traits.

Chew gum and walk...hmmmm. How about tapping one's head with one hand and rubbing one's stomach with the other?

Anyone who believes Jethro Jone$ is what’s best for the success of this franchise on the field has drank the koolaid .

You either become part of the solution or part of the problem . He’s been part of the problem. And so are these fans .

Right.

Dude. You do understand you initially responded to my post and not vice versa..?

Good for you.

Know what the words for taps is? Too tangent for taste?

Day is done, gone the sun
From the lakes, from the hills, from the sky
All is well, safely rest
God is nigh

Fading light dims the sight
And a star gems the sky, gleaming bright
From afar, drawing near
Falls the night

Thanks and praise for our days
Neath the sun, neath the stars, neath the sky
As we go, this we know
God is nigh

I guess some fans aren’t able to provide criticism .

I’m assuming they’ve never called out anything or anyone they love and support especially when they have made mistakes or gone down the wrong path ?

All of this may be true but the bigger point is he’s still our biggest obstacle to overcome.

And it doesn’t excuse the damage he’s already done this era.

What Cowboy fan still believes at age 80 he’s our best option to run or oversee Cowboys Football as GM in whatever capacity ?
I dont believe he is the best option to run or oversee and i highly doubt many do. However, i do believe the way he is operating now, compared to the prior 30+ years is the best he has personally done in terms of leading or rather delegating (Jimmy years aside bc i truly feel jimmy was leading those years as Jerry was getting up to speed).

I think the challenge a lot of people have is the comment above (damage he's already done in this era) - unfortunately, we can't go back and change anything and what's done is done...zeke's contract was crap, dak got overpaid, stuck with Garrett too long, etc....none of that can be changed and its fair to criticize him.

At this point, i want the best we can get with the current situation which means hes not going anywhere until he dies. I would never wish ill on him or that he dies, i also understand hes not seeding his role as GM so i just hope he continues to seed decisions to people that know much more than he does...

No he isn't, Jerry is in the hall because he helped the other NFL owners get wealthy. Period.

I will say again what ive said before, if Parsons wants to have a legacy of an all time great he will have to win 1-2 SBs and to do that he will have to leave Dallas because this team is about ‘relevance’ and ‘good enough’ not about greatness
I reaally wish I didnt agree with every word of this.

Sad but Jerry is way past the point of no return. If he hires a competent GM and even more qualified HC, and they win the SB within in a few years....he would never hear the end of it. It would be a proclamation of how stupid he was to wasted all this time with him at the helm. Three decades is not just a coincidence or even just a dry spell. If he had three decades of never producing a gusher as an oilman, he would be dead broke and selling insurance. Lucky for him ALL pro football teams net worth increases immensely every year so he makes amazing profits. The Dallas Cowboys name was worldwide famous and popular even before he bought the team. Landry was in the process of rebuilding at the time and the owner had no interest in making loads of money since it was not his priority. Enter the snake oil salesman who hits a home run with Jimmy building a dynasty.....but then figuring he wants to be the one people believe is the mastermind. And we are where we are, yes three decades later. Listening to his "this is the year and it is different" crap. Odds say that maybe one year it will be actually true, but i know Jerry won't be part of it.

If Jerry Jones totally relinquished his self-appointed title of GM today, his net worth would not decrease. He would remain super wealthy. He would continue increasing his net worth annually in Forbes magazine.

His mindset will not allow him to do that. He wants both fortune and exaggerated fame. Hiring a qualified football executive as general manager would promote a different football operations philosophy that could improve coaching and roster alike.

However, that change in personal thinking would only provide Jones with simple fame. He does not only wish admiration as an owner who wins Super Bowls. He wants the adoration of being the only person who can accomplish the feat.

This should always be considered with the false assumption of greed. He cares for more than just money. And that has been his personal managerial flaw over the decades since Jimmy Johnson's departure.

Will this season and the years to come be any different if he keeps a vise grip on the GM position? Only time will say otherwise.
What are you saying?? that my boycott of Cowboys Merch isn't going to do the Jonses in financially?????? what???..but if i refuse to go to games that will...

Jerry is a land baron now, the metroplex can not grow without the Jones making a bunch of money..and make no mistake the metroplex WILL continue to grow at an alarming rate. 100% Jerry likes money but he NEEDS confirmation on a bad idea that has been going on for 27 years, this will not change without the grim reaper.

Add oil and gas tycoon to his net worth portfolio as well. He is the controlling stockholder of Comstock Resources. Worth? Currently around $4 billion.

Edit: Some of his critics should strongly consider whether the 'football money greed' is his main motivation as far as the NFL is concerned. It is not. It has not been for a long time.

exactly, he is in this for the credit he feels he never got in the 90's... the family has locked up the whole wealth wagon long ago.

I would amend that observation to credit he feels is always due. It is doubtful his sense of personal vindication will quench his self-satisfaction if the franchise wins another championship. His particular mindset is geared to getting credit for all team success.

That’s all fine and we can hope it’s enough but it doesn’t excuse him from criticism.

He told everyone that he will be in charge from socks to jocks when he bought the team. Nothing will change for JJ as long as he is walking this earth. He wants a SB so he can say, "See, I told you, just be patient and good things will happen because I washed those jocks and socks". Oh, and by the way, it was not the Jimmy that won those SB's it was me because it is my team. Totally narcissist.
