Miles Austin working out with Cowboys
Posted by Michael David Smith on April 13, 2010 3:30 PM ET
Yesterday we noted that Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Miles Austin was sitting out workouts. But today Austin is back with the team.
Todd Archer of the Dallas Morning News reports that Austin is at Valley Ranch working out with teammates in the voluntary offseason conditioning program after spending the last two weeks working out on his own in California.
Austin was tendered at the first- and third-round level, which means it's highly unlikely that any team would sign him to an offer sheet before the deadline Thursday. It also means that signing his tender would guarantee him a one-year deal worth $3.168 million -- a far cry from the $10 million or so he could make as a franchise player if this were an ordinary year. So much for the uncapped year being a bonanza for the players.
Austin is coming off a season in which he caught 81 passes for 1,230 yards and 11 touchdowns and was far more productive than fellow Cowboys receiver Roy Williams, who got paid far more money.
