Sounds to me like someone stepped in, and got them both on the phone.

Maybe the playmaker, or dare I say.....SAS???

Speaking of SaS he was very hard on Dez for the comments. I hope he rights that wrong.

From the beginning I was confused if Norman said "from where I'm from" was he repeating what he said Dez said or what he said to Dez?

I watched the Norman interview when he alleged Dez had said that and it was very clear that it wasn't true.

Norman was clearly talking about unloading the clip meaning leaving it all on the field but the reporter jumped on him asking if that's what Dez said and Norman, frankly, being less than bright said yes, not really thinking it through,

After backing himself into a corner he then doubled down on it by lying and saying that it was Dez who said that on the field.

It was stupid and clearly false, but let's be honest, Norman is no Einstein.

The media should wear most of the blame for fanning the flames of this and I say that as someone who has no love for the dirty player that is Josh Norman.

This whole thing is one of the most embarrassingly stupid things I've ever seen on all sides (including Bryant's) and the worst part about it is the knuckleheads who will never forget and spend the next five years claiming that "Dez once threatened another players life".

I'm glad and not surprised that both of them, are backing down now, it would be nice to hear some apologies from the media too, but we all know how that works...

I'll bet you dollars to donuts that the preachy self serving POS won't even mention it, he just used the whole thing to make himself seem righteous.

Doesn't even matter. There are some people that have a certain perception of Dez, and they wanted those words to have come out of Dez' mind even though there is absolutely zero history of Dez being the type of person that would say something like that.

Norman confirmed Bryant’s quote twice last Thursday but said on Monday, via Master Tesfatsion of the Washington Post, that Bryant didn’t actually say that. Per Tesfatsion, Norman intended the phrase as a metaphor for leaving everything out on the field. If true, there’s a lot of less loaded ways to make that point given the obvious allusion to a threat of violence via the use of a gun.

He also said he’s done with the entire situation.

“Nothing,” Norman said. “It really wasn’t a situation. It was a game. We lost. They won. That was it.”

Bryant expressed regret on Twitter for how he handled things and did so again on Monday.

so you're busted for lying and making gun accusations against someone and NOW you're done?

the NFL needs to fine him.

This ranks up there as one of the all-time punk moves I can remember. I watched the interview after the game, and it appeared pretty clear to me that he was inferring Dez said this in a threatening manner. In fact the Washington Post beat writers asked him a couple of times to make sure they heard correctly. The fact that he would "report" this to the media first tells me all i need to know about him. The fact that it turns out he lied cements it. But whatever, it's over. Both teams move on. Although i'm pretty sure this guy lost a bunch of respect around the league.

Maybe I'm in the minority, but I actually prefer the disrespect that manifests from two teams that don't like each other, it's rather refreshing.
The NFL brand has become too PC since Tagliabue(sp) turned over the reigns.
There was also one play during the game, I believe it was a Washington LBer, after a reception by Witten, the LBER was on the ground and raised his hand to Witten as he walked by for a little help up, and Witten just ignored him.
I loved that.

Both of them are petty and embarrassing in this situation. Fans are making it worse by grabbing the media spin and running with it. Hopefully it actually is done.

Yeah, I'm kinda with you. Never hurts to add a little spice to a dormant rivalry. I really wished Dez had followed through and posted film of him wearing Norman out...if only to add juice it even more.

Alas, good sense prevailed.. *sigh*

Yeah! Where are those vids?! Lol

I'm sure his camp told him to let it go and focus on MIN, but it would have been fun. The conniptions in here by some would have been fun, too :)
