Tyler was considered a 2nd round prospect at best and we drafted him at 23. Some draft boards have Washington as a top 25 player. I would not be surprised if the Cowboys pick him in the first.
If Dane doesn't say it it's a reach on here. Lol dane>>>Mcclay.

It’s the blocking aspect that keeps a TE from contributing on day 1, not his catching ability, and Washington excels at that. First of all, I don’t buy the oversimplified media narrative that Washington is a project as a receiver. That’s just not the way he was used at Georgia, but the media sure loves them some quick bullet-point analysis.

What can Washington do for you day 1? He can create big mismatches. Put a DB on him…he can basically just turn around after 6 yards, use his body to shield, and drag the DB another 3-6 yards. Put a LB on him? Great, now there’s a lighter box for our running game. He’s a huge target for Dak to sail passes to in the red zone, as well. In short, we’re not going to have to wait on Washington to “develop”. He should see the field and help us win right away.

Kraft tapes show some good blocking/protection plays which makes him similar to Washington a bit. Since Dane has him at 50, I wonder if have set the TE position floor at the 2nd round. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think have now met with all top 4-5 TEs. Think about it, what does that tell ya relatives to their meetings with players from other positions?

Just me, but I don't think its to put TE as their No.1 target for 26 or 58, nothing less.

If they want Washington, they are going to have to take him at 26, dont think he is going to be available at 58.
Give me Washington, Benton, Spears/Bigsby/Abanikanda/Johnson, then they can draft kickers and punters the rest of the way for all I care

Darnell Washington, Tucker Kraft visited with Cowboys

The Cowboys may be in the market for a tight end in the draft after Dalton Schultz‘s departure as a free agent and they recently met with a couple of prospects at the position.

Todd Archer of ESPN.com reports that the team visited with Darnell Washington and Tucker Kraft.
last time we had a 6'7+ TE from the SEC it did not work out for us Mr. Laflure

I could definitely see Darnell Washington as the #26.

he is very raw and has a very limited route tree at this time so he is INDEED a project. Tremendous potential, blocks like Erik William on speed, but very raw as a receiver.

Lol. Maybe you can start by showing him what a football is and explaining to him that it’s caught with your hands, not your feet. He’ll get there one day with your help!

Isiah Stanback was a freakin’ project. Darnell Washington is not.
