The NBA has full-time refs and they're an absolute side show too. The rule book is the issue. They keep adding more and more subjectivity.

Apparently, it's not punishment. They got moved to a larger audience game.

Looks like it's saying they were never assigned to Dallas game to start.

An earlier version of this item explained that Morelli’s crew had been reassigned from the Monday night game between Dallas and Washington. The crew had been assigned to work the Sunday night game between the Colts and Steelers, which actually will have a significantly larger audience given that it will be televised on a broadcast network, not cable.

They weren't reassigned from the Dallas game. They were reassigned from the Sunday game. The bigger audience is now spared the possibility of having to see this crew.
