I don't know...I still think the Browns would be in the market for a QB which would still have Rusell as the first pick.

Of course, in trading B. Edwards away, they could be in the market for a WR too...so it could go either way.

I just don't see the Browns being too confident in Frye being their qb of the future and if they draft Russell, it gives the Browns head coach an excuse not to get fired till the second or third year of Russell coming in.

We will see what happens...

There were some reports that Savage is a huge JaMarcus fan and I believe they both grew up in the same area and had some sort of connection. I think I read that or heard it on the radio.

Who knows if it is a legit truth though. I guess we would find out soon.

Russell when to High School in Mobile, Alabama, where Savage is from and currently has a house. So, they are familiar with one another. But, that's probably where it ends.

I just don't know.........have you ever seen some of Russell's negative plays. Reminds me of Aaron Brooks. Really bumbling plays.

I think it could go either way, because the Browns still have a huge whole at RB and imo, QB. Frye just isn't going to cut it and the Browns know it. So if the choice is Johnson, then they definitely will be looking for a RB or QB in the second unless they trade for a player like T. Green or J. Jones (just mentioned a rb... not anything that has been rumored). On the RB front, the Browns could be major players for M. Turner (for a 1st in 08 since it will be a low pick) if this trade does go through for C. Johnson and then select a QB in the second.

JaMarcus Russell grew up attending Phil Savage's football camps. Rumor is that Savage loves him, so that part doesn't surprise me.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Raiders decided they didn't want to pay #1 money either. Add in the bust rate and how many people strongly feel that Quinn is the safer pick, and the rumor certainly makes some sense. But who knows?

Gee. Someone posted this very idea as making its rounds in Raider town the other day. I wonder who?

Well, Brady does have experience behind a poor O line. Though the raiders line is worse then that.
