this quarterback couldn’t even win with Amari Cooper and Lamb so I’m not sure how this would even help is
Did our GM win with Amari and CD?

I recall our GM could not even get adequate trade compensation for Amari.

Then he signed Gallup to a big contract with an injury.
I don’t remember Jerry throwing the ball

I have to go back and check though

BREAKING: #49ers have agreed to the framework of a trade involving Brandon Aiyuk with the #Browns and #Patriots. Aiyuk needs to agree to a extension with one of the teams for the trade to be finalized.

Amari Cooper could potentially be included if Aiyuk goes to Cleveland. Kendrick Bourne would be included if Aiyuk goes to New England.

The #Steelers and #Commanders have reportedly backed out of trade discussions, at least for now.

That'd be insane if he goes to the Browns.

Next year they are -39 million in cap space.

2026 they have 44 million in cap space. For reference Dallas has 174 million.

SF has pulled a Philadelphia, they have borrowed against the future for today. If they have to sign Purdy to a new deal, they will be losing more than Aiyuk.
I kind of figured that their cap would get filled out by progressing contracts. And they still might have to pay Purdy.

I don't believe OTC or spotrac take into account roll over into future years this early in the year.
So, if 49ers stay at +52mil this year, that's +13mil next year.

Trent Williams won't be on the roster with a 34mil cap hit. His new deal he's holding out for now will address it or they will cut/restructure him next year.
Same goes for Fred Warner at a 29mil cap hit, who is still an elite LB. Restructure that 17mil salary or work out a new deal with term.
I doubt Maliek Collins stays on the roster with a 10mil cap hit with no guaranteed salary or prorated bonus.
Deebo is also entering his last year of his non void years in 2025, This is why I though they would re-sign Aiyuk to then move on from Samuels who would be 29 in 2025 and in need of an extension.

Yep they have imminent cap issues but have at least taken legit shots and have come close recently.

How many times has SF built a contender, torn it down, then rebuilt and passed Dallas again over the last 30 years?

I promise they do it again while Stephen is still trying to build a championship team with 5th round draft picks.

That would be exciting news for the Cowboys if it weren't for it being GM'd by JJ in 2024. Money isn't being invested in new quality talent.

Aiyuk put the front office on blast. Not surprised they are trying to trade him.

They drafted a WR in round 1. They need Aiyuk. The actually planned for his departure.

Amazing how that works.
What if that WR is a bust. I mean our own fans think every player is a bust. So why not with other teams.

The Browns as part of the package send Cooper to SF . How does that make sense ?

I didn't realise when I initially commented on this that Cooper was going to be part of the package. However, I could see it being a situation where SFO can get a cheaper deal with Cooper, and Cleveland may be able to get a deal with Samuel. Or it becomes a situation where they swap picks and Aiyuk and Cooper become rentals.

We are not in the market , Stephen offer of Vet minimum will not allure Aiyuk

Big and Little just need to go ahead and trade everyone making more than $10m. It’s obvious they don’t want to pay anyone

Right off the bat a Dak bashing post. We’re not trading for a WR who’s looking for more money when we can’t even sign our top receiver. Anyone who thinks we would be interested in Aiyuk is really out of the loop.
