Wow.....goodbye NFL.....goodbye 5 mil signing bonus...goodbye to your freedom for a min. of 5 years....and worst of all goodbye MR. Reyes. What a horrific and unnecessary chain of events. I thank the Lord above I never killed anyone while driving drunk. Having a family really calmed me down....

Not to be insensitive, I guess that potentially means there is a reduced probability that B Edwards gets traded to the Giants, correct?
A reduced probability that B Edwards gets traded to ANY team.

I'm not thinking that having to replace his 17 catches for 170 yards has any bearing on either situation.

If I was stallworth I wouldn't surrender. I'd hold up in my house and dare them to come get me. The only way I'm leaving is dead 15 years in prison....**** that.

Really? Ouch...I don't know. I mean don't get me wrong I wouldn't be looking forward to 15 in the can, by any means, but to choose death instead?

I don't know. I mean the guy ain't old, ya know? So even if he had to do 15 (which he won't do anything near that) we're talking about a guy that would be in his early 40's. He'd still have a whole life ahead of him.

Nah, I can't see wanting to check out early instead.

15 years is a lot of time. He may still have money however, living in jail for 15 years is something I couldn't do personally I don't even think I can do a year TBH.

He won't do 15. That's the max. The only way he would get that is if he went to trial and lost. And even then, he'd get paroled in probably 5 years.

Leonard Little of the Rams did the same thing and didn't get much of a sentence.

last time I checked, not crossing at a crosswalk is jaywalking(which is illegal). why is nothing being said about this? Stallworth is not to blame here. in fact, the only thing he should be charged with is a DUI.

the guy crossing the street(which probably makes more than enough money to buy a car) didn't cross at a crosswalk and obviously didn't see the car coming. he made a bad judgement call and got killed. Thank you, Darwin.

You should be banned just for this dumb post.

He killed a guy, it doesnt matter if the guy was running from a robbery (which is a real crime). Stallworth was still at fault.

drinking + driving = dumb

I lost someone close to me because of a drunk driver.

I lost my dad to drinking and driving, yes their is no excuse for it but audiman has a point. If mr reyes hadn't broken a law this situation may have never arose.

The same can be said of Stallworth.

Dante deserves what he gets and then probably some.

So your argument is that the only thing he did wrong was DUI???

Well based on this logic, it is your view that if somebody is not actually in a crosswalk, but is jaywalking, you can mow then down with your bentley and drag them down the street???

When the police ask me what happened, I am going to say "the dude was jaywalking, not my fault I mowed him down with my Bentley", "I even flashed my lights at the dude before I made a speed bump out of him".

Jeez........I would really hate to have some of you guys as my defense attorney and tell the judge its ok to run over somebody jaywalking............WOW:eek:

I really don't care if this gets me in trouble or not but you're stupid. Flat out, completely, stupid.

Jaywalking is nothing compared to drinking and driving and, oh yeah, that little speeding thing. Dante drove, after drinking, was WELL above the legal limit and he was going 10 miles an hour over the limit. He's breaking two laws at once.

And if Dante hadn't been breaking the two laws that he was (Drinking and driving and speeding) this may not happen either.

After reading about Donte Stalworth and his DUI accident, it got me to wondering. Why is it he's been with so many teams so early in his career?

New Orleans let him walk after his initail contract ran out.

He was very successful in Philly, a quality receiver starved team. Yet they let him walk after one year.

New England, 1 year.

Did he price himself out of jobs or did clubs see something in his character that turned them off? Maybe something like being drunk at 7 o'clock in the morning by himself? Sounds like someone who doesn't have many friends.

If that's not an alcoholic, I don't know what is.
