The DMN is running this as well.

Actions matter now. We have heard all the words.

It'll be months before we can tell.
to quote the great rock band RUSH, "show me, don't tell me!"

1st thing: No golf this off season. That'd show a committment and shut Skip's mouth haha

He needs to stop talking, and start doing. Anyone that says, "I'll be a better leader" is instantly hurting themselves on that front.

If you're a leader, you're a leader. You don't need to say you'll be one, or become a better one.

Seems to me if Romo says something he is damned and if he says nothing he is damned

If Romo could spend 10 minutes with Tim Tebow, he'd be a better QB for it.

Wish Romo had the heart/humbleness to do that.

And i am going to be a better dancer.

Doesn't mean i will?

Basically what i am saying is prove it.

Talk is cheap.

When he holds him and his teammates accountable for their mistakes and undiscipline than Romo has turned into a better leader.

You people are mad cuz Romo said he'd do something. If he doesn't do it, it has nothing to do with whether or not he said something about it.

Do you people not see how your judgments are illogical at best and superstitious at worst?

Romo has stood up in post game and flat out said I stunk today, he does hold himself accoutable and has not thrown others under the bus for their shortcoming. Maybe Romo should be calling these guys out but then I'm sure he would get ripped for that as well.

It won't matter what he does. He can bust his butt, all offseason, do everything right, and he can lead the Cowboys to an 8-0 start for the season and the moment they lost that ninth game and dropped to 8-1 he'd be blasted for not caring enough, for sucking, for being the biggest reason the Cowboys lose.

Heck the guy could (and I'm certainly not saying this will happen or anything) Dallas to a 12-4 record, 3-1 down the stretch, win a playoff game, or two, and the moment they lost a playoff game, or the Superbowl, people would immediately bring out their pitch forks again and say, "Oh well Tony chokes everytime. He can't win big games. He can't do this. He can't do that."

I hope he's able to continue to improve, and continue to help Dallas improve, but it will never be enough for some.

That said he certainly has things he needs to improve in individually. Learning to throw the ball away, learning to tuck that ball in tighter when he's having to scramble around so that it doesn't get stripped when someone comes from behind to slam him to the ground. Learning to take off and get the little 5-8 yards on the run, that are there, instead of waiting, and waiting, and waiting to try and make the big play and either throwing that dreadful pick so many complain about or taking that hit from behind that causes a fumble.

Plenty of room for him to grow, and learn, and get better. I personally believe he will. Time will tell I suppose.

Great post I agree 100%

I agree if Tony says something he is told to shut up if he says nothing then people say see he does not care.

I hear anyone who meets Tebow emanates light from their face for years--and their hair turns white.

It might help Romo.

Moreover, Tony can predict that he will grow a third arm and become a reincarnation of Jesus every other Thursday from noon to midnight starting next week.

Who the **** cares? It has nothing to do with what he does on the field. People have all these ridiculous superstitions that talking will jinx us somehow, or that you need to go into the playoffs hot to get to the super bowl (See: Cardinals).

Anyone who has been on a football field knows that none of it matters once you're there.

And that's where we are with this Cowboys team. I'm simply no longer interested in anything these players say because they've lost my trust because they have eroded their credibility; hence, their words hold no weight. To regain my trust they simply must build credibility again, and they can do that with actions and positive results on the field; not words - not any more!

:bravo:

But yet he still makes the same mistakes. He may be taking blame at times for poor play in a press conference, but what is his preparation for correcting it on the field?

I agree he can say he will work twice as hard but if it does not happen on the field it will not matter. I don't think he should be ripped for answering a question he was called out and responded and not in a negitive way

Continued hard work there is no magic bullet, Warner is a prime example he looked all world in St. Louis then thing went bad and was out of St Louis all of a sudden he is back on top, it is work continue work and it is also production from those around you such as the ability to block a damn pass rusher or pick up a blitz, we can blame Romo but it is tough hanging on to a ball when your getting your brains bashed in.

Romo doesn't deserve "all the blame" so don't think that. That is not what i am saying. But he has really regressed as a QB and has yet to come into a leader role for the offense. Romo didn't get as much criticism as he is this year because the last 2 years he has been a savior to this team. But now how quickly things change. In his first time as a starter when he took over for Bledsoe he was givin' leeway because it was his first time starting. So people really didn't cry so much about his turnovers because after all he led us to the playoffs when we had no hope in Bledsoe. His first year starting a whole season he went on to break records and had a great year. People who want to blame Romo for the loss against the giants in the playoffs are just ignorant. But this year is his third year starting. He should be wise to the game to know not to make dumb mistakes at times where he has looked like a rookie. This year he has throw a lot of timely critical interceptions where in the past he has not. That is why people are worried about Romo

Prove it on the field Tony

Actually a lot of leadership is executed via talking. Its how we communicate primarily.

I have no issue with him saying that he is going to assert himself more. I would say that as many players on this team respect Romo as there are that do TO. I even think when it comes down to it, he respects Romo as well.

He isn't saying that he is the leader a la Suck James, he is saying he needs to assert himself more. He does.

Romo being laid back wasn't getting the job done he is acknowledging that and so he is getting hammered.

Whatever, Romo and the rest should just boycott talking to anyone until the June minicamps. Its getting to the point of complete mental collapse by the fams

Warner hurt his hand and his accuracy suffered. He started throwing errant passes and picks and people turned on him. Sound familiar?

I have no problem with Tony seeing the need for leadership on this team and stepping up to try and provide that. My problem is that I don't believe that you can turn leadership off and on like a light switch. You're either a person with leadership skills and personality or you're not. In most cases, successful leaders just "happen". In some cases they may have to wait in the wings for the right time to become a leader or the leader. I do not believe that TR is or has been a leader waiting for his time. I think it's something he's feeling pressured into becoming and I wonder if it will be effective.
