Actually no hes not. its no coincidence that the states that have concealed carry laws are in the south. you can stick your head in the sand if you want but i know people form back hom in south texas that have gun lokcers filled with rifles, shotties and handguns and with their CCL they carry around a switchblade derringer wherever thye go.

Kinda missed all those people doing that in Boston and Chicago.

Like I said above I guess my family is the exception to this stereotype

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought that if a player was suspended, He couldn't attend, games, practices, meetings, or workouts.

So If he's suspended for 8 games and we sign him tomorrow, he would be basically coming into a brand new system Nov 12th after we play the giants for the second time.

This is if he stays out of trouble for this long, and stays in shape. I would think he would need some time to learn the system and jell with the rest of the team, and earn the starting spot over the guys that have been playing all year. And remember at this point he hasn't played or practiced (with a team) the game in almost a year.

So if all this happens he might be back to his old self by the time we make the playoffs? If we make the playoffs. That is a lot of if's.

It seems borderline ridiculous to even consider the notion.

I think you're stretching the truth just to avoid stereotyping. I've lived in the South my entire life. For the most part it lives up to its stereotype. After all, that's why the stereotype exists.

when i was a kid way back i 1976, we moved from austin, tx to orlando, florida. suddenly instead of having a house we grew up in in a normal neighborhood and normal school systems, we had a 5k acre ranch, 10k head of cattle, 12 oil wells across the land, a herd of wild horses...

and they bought that stereotype up. maybe stereotypes exist cause people are too lazy to educate themselves about reality.

I agree. I don't think Tank will happen either. He has to sit-out 8 games once he is signed. I think that happens only after someone signs him? I could be wrong.

Cides - I think we will be ok in the middle w/ Ratliff and Remi. Get some youth in there. Ratliff seemed to have an ok game last night.

Well, I don't know about Tank but I am worried about the NT. I didn't think we played very well at NT after Ferguson went down at all. We gave up 89 yards to Ward, alone, on 13 carries. That's almost 7 yards a carry.

That may very well be but it sounds like your using the same .my family is from the south and doesnt dogfight so there isnt much dogfighting in the south' argument.

In the south, especially from Texas gunownership is not just viewed as a right but also as a duty by many. You live in Missouri if Im not mistaken and i have no familiarity with what its like there but saying that there arent a lot of gun toting freaks running around in Texas is just incorrect.

its similar in alabama, Florida, Mississippi, and even the mountain states like Wyoming and Montana

oh i get people talking about tumbleweeds all the time and others saying that they lived in Austin and knoew for a fact that there were tumbleweeds and i just sit there and tell them that unless its the chiuhauan (sp) desert that they are lying and Austin isnt in the desert.

Sterotyping by saying that because somen from Texas means they are a guntoting freak is one thing but saying that there are a lot of gun toting freaks in Texas is quite another. there are.

I was born and raised in Tenn but my inlaws live in South Tx and don't own guns either.

This should be settled in a poll.

Are you Southern or a yankee?

Neither, I'm a Texican.

Are you a gun toting freak?

Yes but mostly only on the weekends.

One of those carries went for 44 yards where Dallas got caught over pursuing. He had 45 yards on his other 12 carries, which is under 4 yards per carry. I am not as concerned with the rushing defense. I think the long run was a fluke. The passing game killed them. Short, intermediate and long passes were being allowed.

God bless Tennessee.

A total of 189 men are known to have died in defense of the Alamo in March, 1836. From which state did the majority of the Alamo defenders come?

Davy Crockett and the men who accompanied him came to help from his native state,

Tennessee.

In for a little, in for a lot Josee. One run may have been 44 but the guy still ran for 89 on 13 carries. This is a guy who is like 3rd or 4th string for them the year before. The Giants ran well on us and threw well against us. I'm just saying I wouldn't characterize Ratliff's play as good.

Perhaps a different approach is in order.

Take all those Bum Phillips interviews we saw from his living room. On his mantle he had two front loading muskets hung. Being from east Texas that is a culturally accepted norm. Now it very well may be that your inlaws are from south Texas and do not own firearms but being from south texas my self i can telly ou that people down here take therir right to bear arms very seriously.

I dont think its out of line to say that many a rancher for example would consider a rifle a necessity.

i personally have a few firearms myself but mine are legal and i found it strange that a man that makes a ton of money would need illegal firearms. That being said as long as he was nt using those firearms in the commission of a crime i could care less that he has them. The DUI OTOH i do have an issue with. Drunks and firearms or cars dont mix well at all.

For some the stereotype maybe true but all I am saying is don't lump everyone from the South in too it.

The totals were a problem. Sometimes long runs are a product of luck. Sure, you still don't want to give them up. I just did not see them give a whole bunch of 5 to 10 yard carries through out the night. That is the kind of stuff that causes more of a concern in my opinion. I did not see them getting gutted. Maybe another team will have more success, but the rush defense looked very similar to the last couple of years and that was not too bad. The passing defense was the worry.

I hope you are right Josee. I am very worried about our run defense. I see us wearing down at NT unless we can find some guys who can play and that's always tough at this stage of the season. It is what it is I suppose.

I hear statements from time to time that Tank is better in pursuit than at the point of attack. How accurate is this, is it just fan/media-speak or are scouts/coaches of this opinion also? Because if it is true, I don't see why people just want to favor size over suitability at nose, other than they don't like the status quo and just want another name on the team.
