Theisman simply talks TOO much.

He talks way too much ....... and the problem being, he doesn't say anything.

Great News !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm sick and tired of hearing about his broken leg.:bang2:

Now for his replacement. Mike & Mike.

Good...Theezman by far is the worst and no not because he is a former Commanders...because he says so many idiotic things and constantly contradicts himself.

Man this is a long time in coming. Theezman has always sucked! His voice is annoying like fingernails on a chalkboard, his comments are beyond idiotic, and his bias is obvious. It is a shock when he says something that is actually correct and insightful. Well OK, the 2 times in the last 20 years he did that were a shock.

I don't know that Jaws would be a good choice but at least he would have some insight to share once in a while. He still has an annoying manner of speaking but at least he doesn't sound like a screeching eel.

I actually like that idea a lot.

WAS ESPN PLANNING A TUNA SURPRISE FOR JOEY SUNSHINE?

There's an interesting item in the Detroit News regarding Bill Parcells' job duties with ESPN. It appears that the Tuna is telling people that he initially was asked to join the Monday Night Football crew.

Parcells has been spending time at baseball's spring training (though we could think of better ways to cure his apparent insomnia). And Parcells apparently told Detroit Tigers pitcher Nate Robertson of the initial offer that ESPN extended.

"He was asked to do 'Monday Night Football'," Robertson said, "but he's not going to -- although maybe he should tell you that."

Uh-oh. Robertson has said too much, and he knows it.

We can only assume that this means that one of the current sock puppets on MNF would have gotten the shoe. And the prime candidate for termination would have been, in our view, the analyst whom we lovingly call Joey Sunshine.

If Parcells had taken the job, the irony would have been that the guy who coached the guy who killed Sunshine's playing career would have then killed his broadcasting career.

And thanks to the member of PFT Planet who pointed this one out to us.

Actually, that's the only thing I like hearing about from him.

Look at who is defending the moron and thats all you need to know.
Would have been perfect if BP had replaced him- as it was pointed out it was BP who trained LT who finished of the morons career. To deep six his broadcasting time on MNF as well would have been a great cap to a double header.

The lasting memory I will have of Dick Vermeil is his raspy voice during the Cowboys-Falcons game this year. How any exec (or even Vermeil himself) thought it was a good idea for him to go ahead and still try to do the game is beyond me. At least they got a clue at halftime.

I missed seeing Vermeil doing the Falcons game, but I was able to catch the MNF double header and it was great. Just night and day from what Theisman and crew put together. Wouldn't mind him calling the games at all.

Vermeil would be good, but I don't know if he'd want to do something that regularly. He's supposed to be "retired" ya know.

I am not a Joey T fan, but I certainly wouldnt be a fan of having Parcells.

Now is they got Brad Nessler, dumped Kornheiser, and picked up Pat Kirwan, it would be a coup.

(Dick Vermeil + Jaws) - (Kornheiser + Theisman) = Win for everyone.
I like that idea a lot but Vermeil would have to leave NFLN first. I am sure he would for MNF.

I hate to say it but Gil Brandt woult be 10x better than Vermeil. Vermeil is just boring to me. At least with Brandt (although he seems to have a little ADD) I get some real insider stories, not to mention he follows the game closer than any ofr the rest of these clowns.

ESPN is simply trying to find the next, big "John Madden" type personality to fill their MNF booth. Someone with a solid, indepth, pro football background who can balance game analysis along with sports-related anecdotes on the side. Whether any viewer likes or dislikes him, Parcells fits the bill (no pun intended) moreso than Theismann or Nessler. I do like your Kirwan suggestion, though.

WOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!! this might be the best anouncement mnf ever made

I agree, and while they are at it, Kornheiser was unwatchable too.

Show Mr. Tony some love.

They should put Irvin in the booth with Young to make a Howard Cossell/ Don Meredith rivalry again.:)
