The question is whether or not he'll ever work again. I mean, where does a clown like him fit in?

I actually think he is very smart. Yes he is a Philly Homer but every teams player who turns announcer is a Homer except Aikman (not a bad thing). He breaks down team film better than anyone I've seen and I've often thought about him coming here in some offensive coach position (blasphemy I know) but that is how much I respect his knowledge.

Good...Theezman by far is the worst and no not because he is a former Commanders...because he says so many idiotic things and constantly contradicts himself.

He's far from the most irritating guy out there, I'd take him over MacGuire and Dierdorf for starters.

MacGuire is basically a sideline guy for College football now.

Man it was just flat out terrible hearing him and Joey together.

Many people may not like jaws because he is a homer but he does one of the better segments on ESPN concerning football with his breakdown segments.

I think he is one of the better X and O commentators on ESPN but what happens IMO was he would be with guys like Irvin, Young and boomer and their personalities were too big for Jaws so he would try to over do it and came across looking silly.

Kind of like being among a bunch of guys and telling jokes and everyone feels comfy but some new guy comes in being all loud and telling lame jokes...just over doing it and everybody just stops and looks at them like they are an alien.:laugh1:

I think in the booth will be good with Jaws. He will not have to "compete" with the in show commentators and he can stick to what he is best at...X and Os.

I think he's great but the screaming is annoying.

I hope not. I hated Theisman as a player & Commander, but I love him on TV. He's obnoxious ans tells it like it is.

You should try watching him without drugs.

Jaws has never come across as a homer to me. I like him because he brings more substance to the booth, not just a 'personality.'

Jaworski replacing Theismann in MNF booth

ESPN.com

There will be a quarterback change in the Monday Night Football broadcast booth for the 2007 season.

Ron Jaworski will join Mike Tirico and Tony Kornheiser on the ESPN telecast. Jaworski replaces Joe Theismann, who has been offered a prominent football analyst job with the network.

Michele Tafoya and Suzy Kolber will continue as sideline reporters.

"This new lineup will enhance our presentation of Monday Night Football, our most important property," Norby Williamson, executive vice president, studio and remote production, said in a statement. "Ron has covered the NFL from many different perspectives, and he is totally tied into the issues and trends from around the league.

"We appreciate the work Joe has done for 19 years and continue to talk with him about another high-profile football role with ESPN."

Jaworski, who played 17 years in the NFL, most notably as quarterback of the Eagles, joined ESPN in 1990. He has been a prominent NFL analyst for the network and his studio duties will now be spread among ESPN's other NFL analysts, including newcomers Emmitt Smith and Bill Parcells.

Theismann, a storied quarterback in Commanders history, was the NFL's MVP in 1983 and led Washington to victory in Super Bowl XVII.

Last season, ESPN's coverage of Monday Night Football was the most-watched series in the history of cable television and the only NFL series nominated for a 2007 Sports Emmy in the Outstanding Live Sports Series category.

Nine of the top 10 on the list of cable television's biggest household audiences ever came from ESPN's coverage of Monday Night Football in 2006, including the Giants-Cowboys game on Oct. 23, 2006, which ranks No. 1 all-time with a 12.8 rating.

Why did we have to lose that game!:bang2:

MNF switch: Jaws in, Joe out

In the very-good-news department, ESPN has pulled the plug on Joe Theismann as the lead analyst for Monday Night Football and gone with Ron Jaworski -- a major upgrade, if you ask me. This move should have been made a year ago when ESPN first got the rights to put out MNF, but the network stuck with their lone holdover from the Sunday night broadcast crew. Adding Tony Kornheiser got the most waves, but Theismann's return to doing games deserved equal parts attention, or in my case, alacrity.

I have been told that Joe is an OK fellah (never met him), but I can't stand him as a broadcaster. It takes a strong play-by-play guy to keep him shackled, and Mike Tirico -- one of the budding stars of the industry -- did his best to keep Joe in line. Better certainly than pushover Mike Patrick. But Theismann flip-flopped more than John Kerry, constantly irritated with his asinine comments about pointless things and overtalked throughout the broadcast. Sometimes a two-yard run is just a two-yard run, you know?

Jaws, on the other hand, might be right up there with Phil Simms as the best at breaking down tape and making it understandable to the masses. They help make football a more watchable game. Both have enthusiasm, but they temper it well. I think Jaws' commitment to his craft sets him apart, and within 4-5 games this season, I will bet you that people just eat him up. Maybe sooner. He's so much better than Theismann, it's silly. Those few games Jaworski got to do this season, I thought, "He just got himself a job."

He did -- and at Joe's expense. God bless ESPN for this brilliant give-and-go.

I wouldn't shed a tear if ESPN restricted Kornheiser to Pardon The Interruption only.

I hate Theisman; I hate Jaworski; I like Kornheiser on PTI but he's awkward and unprofessional on MNF; I don't care one way or another about That Third Nondescript Guy in the Booth Whose Name is Somehow Escaping Me.

Put Mike and Mike in there. I wouldn't mind trying that.

Jaworski is good at what he does.

Hes an Eagle homer, but I thikn every former player has that except Aikman.

Kornehiser is great on PTI, but has been bad. I could care less about every one of his fantasy players, even if I was into fantasy I wouldnt care.

Dick Vermeil is real good, he should join the booth.

Im glad Theisman is out, he does his homework on the players, but is so unwitty and litteraly frustrating at times
