Couple things........It appears the Eagles, like the Cowboys, are well-positioned going into the draft. I'm expecting them to trade down a bit ( Roseman continues stashing future draft picks) Also, as stated before, no one is talking about it but a couple of teams drafting before maybe see Gibbs's speed and/or passing-catching skills as a better fit for their offense. In other words, it's not a reach to think some team could draft him before Robinson.

Where will Bijan Robinson land in the draft?

Posted by Mike Florio on April 16, 2023, 9:44 AM EDT

Texas running back Bijan Robinson is widely viewed as one of the best players in the draft. But he’s a running back, and running backs don’t get drafted as high as they once did.

The NFL has come a long way from 2005, when three running backs (Ronnie Brown, Cedric Benson, Cadillac Williams) went in the top five. Last year, there were no first-round running backs at all. Since the Giants took Saquon Barkley with the second overall pick in 2018, no running back has been taken higher than 24th (Josh Jacobs in 2019, Najee Harris in 2021).

The Eagles are going top draft Robinson. Forget what "they" say about drafting a RB in the first round, he's the missing piece to a dominant offense. Added to the rest of their young playmakers, their offense truly becomes a "pick your poison" nightmare for several seasons..

I can taste the acid boiling in my stomach, the price I have to pay for an honest, unbiased opinion. I hate coming to this conclusion but when you look at their quarterback, the WR's and the O-line, Robinson just seems like that piece to complete the puzzle.

Yes, their QB is a prolific runner. So, what if he shared the backfield with one of the most dangerous runners in the league? Not only that, but how expensive is Bijan compared to what he could produce? He would be an absolute bargain.

Eagles aren't taking a RB, teams to watch out for: Atlanta, New England, Detroit, Tampa, Chargers, Minnesota. I highly doubt he makes it through this gauntlet.

With all the QBs going before 10 the Eagles will have a blue chip defensive player and Peter Skoronski on the board. They aren't taking Robinson at 10. My fear is they package their 30th pick with their 2024 2nd round pick and move up to take him if he falls into the late teens.

The only reason they "might" take Robinson in the first is they have the luxury of two first round picks. But it would be a total stunner if they picked him with that first pick at 10.

Yeah they are going Witherspoon, Carter, one of the edge guys or Skoronski at 10 IMO.

However, that 10th pick could also be a prime trade down situation for them too. Roseman might be able to swindle another second round pick from a team to move into the later teens, still end up with a good player and then have four players coming out of the first 65. That would be a serious restocking of their roster.

You could be right. This is why I take the week of the draft off every year. The unknown, the surprises, the treachery. It's great. But let me give an alternate opinion.

There are quite a few good RBs in this draft that you can get in the subsequent rounds. That would achieve basically the same thing as far as the Eagles are concerned. However, you can't say that about most of the other positions in regard to pick #10. RBs like Gibbs and Achane would be lethal on the Eagles. Hell, ever watch Bigsby run? They don't need to use a 10th pick. I'd rather them pick Bijon at 10, than OL Skoronski or Jalen Carter at 10, and Gibbs later on. That would be worse.

IMO, Gibbs will have a longer shelf life in the NFL. His position skills at RB, WR, and slot WR would be a greater fit for Dallas.

I don’t think Witherspoon has any chance of lasting past Detroit at number 6. Unless Carter slides and they take him there, then Dan Campbell will likely take Spoon there. He is 100% a Dan Campbell type player.

Gibbs would fit in with Dallas.

But Robinson would be ideal.

I actually can see them going Gibbs for this reason w/ their second first.

The Eagles obliterated run defenses last year with Miles Sanders, Gainwell and Scott at RB. They don't need to invest a 1st for a RB. They can find a RB in the 2nd-4th rounds whose play style fits their system and not miss a beat.

Hope he lives up to the hype.

A pretty long list of RBs taken in the top half of the 1st round (many considered sure things) that disappointed or flat-out busted.

Not at all predicting that but just sayin'

I hope you’re right but I have them gettin Bijan one way or the other.

Vegas has Atlanta as the betting favorite. Followed by the Cowboys.

They never draft backs in the 1st rd. Him going to the Eagles is more Cowboy fan driven.
