Canty Tank Hanesworth![]()

Turner is a dream. Someone will give him a fat contract that we won't even think about matching.
sjordan6;1764319 said:10. Asomugha... he will certainly be franchised by the Raiders and go thru some tough negotiations to get paid. Al Davis will not want to pay him but he will definitely not let one of the league's premier young corners get away.
Dallas has no chance!
9. Suggs...outstanding young pass rusher who the Ravens will not allow to walk away. Suggs is the reason why they let the other "Mr. Everything" go this last off-season because they knew they will have to pay Suggs. Beside, the Ravens are a very old defense in the need of a overall but Suggs is still an anchor.
Dallas has no chance and would not pay for him.
8. Clark...will not break the bank but Manning rarely loses players he know is key to his success. Clark will be resigned.
Dallas has no need for him.
7. Faneca...will probably be considered one of the top FA this off-season and will be looking for close to $30 million guaranteed. Faneca is a Pro-Bowl guard who is a good locker room guy and will be highly valued with a Super Bowl ring.
Dallas has a need but simply cant afford two gigantic guard contracts.
6. Turner...is an interesting free agent to evaluate. He has obvious skills but is playing behind an exceptional line and is the back-up to the leagues best running back. His yards per average can be attributed to these factors. Turner will be looking for a deal similiar to Travis Henry's but the questions remains can he be a feature back in this league. Green Bay seems ideal.
After Julius Jone's departure, there will be a need but look for the Cowboys to find their next running back in the draft.
5.Briggs...will definitely be looking for the pay day he was denied this last off-season be being franchised by the Bears. He will definitely go to the highest bidder and I see the Commanders being sold swamp land to sign him.
Dallas simply have too many LBs to go after Lance Briggs and will not be part of an auction to sign a position they are pretty strong in.
4. Samuel...will be considered one of the top free agents and probably sign an EXTREMELY lucrative contract to a team with alot of cap space, like the Titans. Samuel is a top corner on a premier team and will definitely become the highest paid corner in the league, more than Nate Clements!
Not so fast on this one. Today Newman is 29 and Henry is 31. Samuel will be 27 in January. I don't think Jerry will get into the bidding war for Samuel but signing him makes sense given the fact that Newman is beginning to have those nagging injuries and will be a FA after 08, when he will be 31 looking for a big payday. Henry's 5yr/$25 mil looks cheap right now but can we expect Newman to be the next Darrlye Green to play when he is close to 40.
3. Haynesworth...forget about it. This guy is having a MVP season and the Titans will surely franchise him for two season if they have to. There is no chance he gets aways from them and he will become the highest paid defensive player in the league. Yes, his contract will surpass Freeney's.
Dallas will have to depend on Tank Johnson and Jason Ferguson to make up for one Haynesworth.
2. Sanders...hands down one of the premier safeties in the league. A playmaker who actually makes players around him better from the defensive side of the ball. With Dallas Clark and Bob Sanders both becoming Free Agents ( remember they just signed Freeney), the Colts will have to do alot of restructuring to fit both of these guys under the cap.
Dallas will not be signing Bob Sanders. They just paid Roy Williams last season and would not be in the market for another SS.
1. Moss...we all know that Moss is Moss. Now it is interesting to think that Moss would not want his money after this season. The patriots are legendary in being very tight and not paying high salaries. I wonder how much of a discount Moss would give to stay with the Patriots. This season he has raise his market value with his attitude and of course his production.
Moss will be 31 in February but still has about 4 seasons of pure dominance. Although it would be a long shot, I could see Jerry paying to have a Moss and Owens....o.k I can dream, can't I?

Big Dakota;1764320 said:I'd like to see Cowboys fans use their heads when talking FA. They don't seem to get we have several HUGE deals we have already handed out and several more upcoming in 08 and 09. We won't get any of the guys on that list nor should we be interested in any at the prices they will command. Why in God's name would Turner want to go from a second fiddle in SD to more of the same with Barber? And as you say, how in the world can we pay Romo, TO, Barber..etc.etc. and Turner?
JIMMYBUFFETT;1764341 said:The only free-agents I'm interested in signing at this point are :
Patrick Crayton
Julius Jones
Flozell Adams
Jacques Reeves
Ken Hamlin
Also restricted free-agents
Marion Barber
Chris Canty
Jay Ratliff
I'd move first toward resigning the players who have gotten us to 8-1 and better . Let free-agency come to you instead of chasing players , and draft well at the positions you're not deep at . CB , WR , SS , MLB , OG , C , 3rd RB , and QB .
I like the big names like Samuels and Haynesworth too , but I like the idea of Henry manning corner with a 1st round draft pick behind him and Jay Ferguson manning NT with Tank behind him better . It's cheaper , keeps the same core of guys who have been playing together all season , and gives a rookie time to learn rather than being thrown in the fire .
I just keep thinking how great it would be to get a guy like Aquib Talib and giving him time to play along side Newman , Henry , and Reeves with no pressure to come in and start . Or how about Adarius Bowman beside Owens , Glenn , and Crayton without the pressure of starting . It just seems to me like Dallas is in the prime position to keep adding youth to this team and building another dynasty .

9. LB Terrell Suggs, Baltimore Ravens
Despite sagging sack numbers, Suggs is on pace to set a career high in tackles.

Nov. 13, 2007
Not all free agents are created equal. In the cutthroat world of the NFL, some are looked on as franchise cornerstones, while others are merely footnotes on a transactions page. From athletic marvels to legal deviants to consummate professionals, no two players offer an identical package. As voted on by the PFW editors, here are the 10 most intriguing free agents-to-be, all of whom bear following as the season progresses.
1. WR Randy Moss, New England Patriots
New England won’t shell out top dollar for Moss, but he may decide to remain with the Pats, regardless.
2. SS Bob Sanders, Indianapolis Colts
Look no further than a healthy Sanders as the biggest reason for the Colts’ defensive turnaround.
3. DT Albert Haynesworth, Tennessee Titans
Vilified in 2006 for cleating Andre Gurode’s face, Haynesworth is now abusing O-linemen the right way.
4. CB Asante Samuel , New England Patriots
Immune to being franchised again, Samuel will have a hoard of suitors longing for his signature.
5. LB Lance Briggs, Chicago Bears
Equally abusive to ballcarriers and automobiles, Briggs has been better than teammate Brian Urlacher in ’07.
6. RB Michael Turner, San Diego Chargers
LaDainian Tomlinson’s understudy is too explosive to remain a No. 2 option in San Diego.
7. OG Alan Faneca, Pittsburgh Steelers
Faneca didn’t get the extension he was seeking in Pittsburgh, so it’s nearly certain he’s gone in 2008.
8. TE Dallas Clark, Indianapolis Colts
The versatile Clark is a better bet to receive a long-term deal in Indy than teammate Bob Sanders.
9. LB Terrell Suggs, Baltimore Ravens
Despite sagging sack numbers, Suggs is on pace to set a career high in tackles.
10. CB Nnamdi Asomugha, Oakland Raiders
Rarely tested by opposing quarterbacks, Asomugha has yet to nab an interception after eight picks in ’06.
I think Ellis could end up with more sacks this season than Suggs has ever had, despite only playing 3/4 of the season.Rack;1764453 said:That would be so freakin' awesome... Suggs and Ware... OMG.

cobra;1764329 said:Erm.... ILB?
Exactly how many ILBs can a team play at one time?
We already got Ware, Ellis, and Spencer on the outside.
On the inside we have James, Ayodele, Burnett, and Carpenter.
*** do we need to focus on getting a linebacker for?
This post is a joke, right?FCBarca;1764527 said:You play a 3-4, you need someone to wrap up RBs coming up the middle when your OLB are essentiall pass rushers, i.e. Ellis, Ware and/or Spencer.
In the middle, Burnett, Ayodele and James have been disappointing to say the least...And Carpenter?...He's not an inside LB...He's not even much of an OLB as he's been burned in coverage...Let's not even get started on Carpenter who was a horrible pick to begin with.
Need an ILB who can make tackles and can shore up the run defense...That isn't going to come from the current crop of ILBs who aren't even in the top 40 of tacklers in the league.
