im with you...austin has some speed but i strongly feel HUrd is the better overall reciever.don't be surprised if its Hurd that breaks out this year for us.not stanback or austin. i said it before and im saying it again

I like Hurd alot too and Stanback I really don't have a opinion since he hasn't played. I think Austin is gonna be the guy that has the breakout year for us this season tho. His size, speed, and athletic ability is outstanding and it seems like his hands are finally coming around in the OTA's. With all that being said, I still feel like TG is gonna be opposite TO all season long and if that happens our O will be better then last years. Just imagine that!!!!

I do get a kick out of the sports writers who say that while our offense will be very good this year, not to expect one as good as last season...

That doesn't make a bit of sense. There are at least 3 dozen reasons why we should be as good as or better than last years offense... and of course, there's our way improved defense.

You're so on point with this. To me, the biggest addition to our O is Hudson Houck taking over our oline, he's outstanding and our oline will be better then last year. With HH coaching our oline I look for our running game to be extremely better then last years oline. I see MB3 and FJ having big years...

all we need is one of these guys to step up...hurd, austin, the arrendola...or stanback...

He far from proven. I'm not saying hes a proven player. I was just saying that I think he has the abilities to play a bigger role and I also think he will surpass Hurd on the depth chart if he puts it all together.

As far as who he has gone up against. No, he hasn't faced top notch talent but he can only go out there and play against the guy they line up across from him.

I agree with this. As a coach you have to have a vision for these guys.

Its hard as a fan to sometimes have this vision.

Austin has all the measurables you could possibly ask for.

Bill Parcells was a big believer in developing your young talent.

Austin came from a crap school so when we got him he was as raw as raw can get.

With 3 years of professional training under his belt it should be interesting to see what this guy can bring to the table this year.

Also, dont forget, WR is one of the toughest positions to play in the NFL from college.

Hurd is definetely the better receiver as of today.

Everything about Hurds game has been "Good" so far in his 1st 2 years.

The thing I like most about his game is he has shown the ability to make acrobatic catches.

Like Austin, it will be fun to see how well he has developed in year 3.

This has been a fun thread to read, being that there isn't much being reported on the Cowboys during this downtime before the start of training camp.

What I have noticed in this thread is the venom being spewed in the direction of Patrick Crayton. Of course this isn't anything new. But a good percentage of you act as if he is the sole reason for the Cowboys traditional December and January collapses.

It's as if Crayton is a cancer and the only remedy is to lance him off the Cowboy's silver and blue a**. Not me buddy. The kid had a bad game at a bad time. But overall, his play has elevated the past couple of seasons, and his confidence soared to where he began speaking out a little bit.

What I heard out of Crayton during interviews was him defending the Cowboys as a whole, and defending his own abilities. You only need to read between the lines, and not take it so much at face value when listening to Patrick speak to reporters. And no, I do not need direct quotes.

Bottom line, Crayton is a young player who is coming into his own. Stop the hate, or at least tone it down for one of our own guys. Hey, at least he ain't another Joey Porter, or a Chad Johnson. All of this is mild compared to the antics that Porter's and Johnson's teams and fans have to put up with.

When it's all said and done, I usually give a guy 3 years to perform, unless he's a top 10 pick.
