Whispers

Nov. 3, 2007

Updated as of 11:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 4

Cowboys sources say the soonest that WR Terry Glenn might return to the team would be the Washington game on Nov. 18, but the team most likely would wait four days and have him play on Thanksgiving.

From the other reports, the dude isn't even running yet.

I think T-giving may be a tad optimistic at this point.

I hope it's true though.

IMO the soonest we'll see Glenn is the game after the Green Bay game (Philly?).

I don't think that's possible that he plays Nov 18th game. He hasn't even started to run yet. I'm thinking that we probably won't see him on the field until against the Lions.

I don't care when it is. I just want him at 100% at that time. No need to rush him back.

Glenn's 100% days are long gone.

I honestly don't think we'll see him on the field until the last 2 or 3 games of the season.

I think we'll treat those as "pre-season" games for him to get him up to speed for the playoffs.

We haven't needed him thus far to score points, so I think we work him back slowly to be an added, secret weapon for the playoffs.

I think the 29th is the SOONEST we will see him. If he has not started running this week- he will not at the earliest start untill next week. Add 2 weeks to get ready and the 29th is the only possible date for this month. More likely Dec 9.

It would great if the master plan was to make like he isnt even running and nowhere near close to playing and them BAM.... he comes out and plays....

It doesnt sound like smoke and mirrors.... but nowadays... you never know

Same here.

Hes played enough football that if we bring him back a week or 2 before the playoffs he would be good to go.

I seriously think he is playing it safe right now and will eventually do all he can to get on the field.

Then why not IR him?

I think he'll play (or at least try to) but it's going to take a lot longer to get him on the field than many here are speculating.

terry glenn will play the last 4 games of the year. It will probably take him all 4 of those games to find his legs. He will be the best he is going to be in the playoffs. Again, if we get a bye, then keeping him on the roster all year was worth it. But if we wind up a wildcard team, the team did itself a disservice by not putting him on IR earlier and getting someone in here that can stretch the field.

Not if it's the problems with the meniscal cartilage that we're talking about.
The much bigger issue will be whether or not he's been able to keep his muscle and wind up well enough to play even spot duty in an NFL game. It's entirely possible he'll end up playing a few more years at the same high level.
