It didn't matter, but there was also blatant PI that wasn't called against Philly on Pickens deep catch along the sideline.

I didn't see that as PI, but admittedly I was watching the brilliant catch more than what the DBs were doing.

It doesn't matter because the DB had committed interference first. If it was only Lamb extending his arm, then it would have been offensive pass interference, but the DB had already grabbed and impeded him.

Again, it should have been a no-call IMO because the DB committed interference and then Lamb committed OPI to get away. But I think the official had already made up his mind to flag the DB for his interference before Lamb pushed off and made the catch.

You can't ignore the DB's interference just because of the push-off by Lamb.

Or it should have been offsetting.

The idea that the ref should just “let them play” doesn’t hold water imo.

Of the two fouls, hands to the face is typically considered more serious than handfighting or tugging at a dude.

It would have been offsetting, but I'd rather they just let them play. The DB made contact first, drawing the interference flag. Lamb retaliated with the stiff-arm. IMO, justice was done without a penalty being necessary. Why offset and repeat the down?

First, I’m happy how it worked out.

But how CeeDee interfering and getting to also keep the catch while the DB is flagged seems kinda unbalanced.

Well, it's my opinion that neither flag should have been thrown because both players made illegal contact with each other and if that's the case, I believe you let them fight it out. Maybe it was too late by the time that Lamb's stiff-arm happened to retract the penalty, although the ref could have picked it up. I don't remember when the official started reaching for his flag.

Frankly, if Lamb had not made the catch, I think Philly has a better argument for it not being fair. Their guy interfered, so you can't erase that. Lamb interfered, too, so you either let it play out or you call both. They only called the one, but since Lamb made the catch anyway, it nullified it.

Oh yeah. Didn't look back, ran into him and wrapped him around the waist WAY before the ball got there.

I meant that I wasn't watching that the DB made contact. I was watching the catch by Pickens.
