Philadelphia Eagles

Let me put it this way. If a Beelzebub broke out of the depths of hell, breathing fire, clawing at the earth, and shooting lightning out of its eye sockets, it would look like a girl scout compared to the Eagles.

The now caught, escaped inmate is an Eagles Fan. Fitting.

Not even sure I even hate the team as much as I hate the city and their fans.
You shouldn't hate Philadelphia. Its one of the most historically significant cities in the country. Probably the most historically significant city

This means zero to me. It's significant because of events that happened centuries ago. It's now a dump.

yeah it is the fans and some of the people that live there that are bad, not the team. Same for most citys / teams.
the people that hate the teams no matter who plays currently is just blind hate, and kinda stupid.

Eagles don't look as sharp as they did last year, IMO.
They don't. I still maintain Hurts is not that good of a pocket passer. He needs a strong run game for him to pass. That's exactly what happened against Minnesota. Teams have to sell out to stop the run and force Hurts to beat you with the pass. Hurts has two very good WRs, and he will beat you if you sell out trying to stop the run.

What I’ve seen through the first two weeks.
Offense
-The offense has no continuity or plan, it’s just random plays. Obviously defenses have adjusted to what they were doing last year. They seem to be disguising more, making adjustments pre-snap and I think it’s confusing Hurts.
-Hurts isn’t getting through his progressions quick enough. There were several times guys were open and he took a sack. On the INT Goedert chipped the far DT and leaked into the flat and was wide open. Hurts predetermined his throw and never got off it.
-O-line pass protection hasn’t been up to standard but I think as much if not more is on the QB than the o-line
-I give them credit for sticking with the run game when they kept getting a light box. A lot of coaches can’t help themselves and keep trying to pass in that situation. Ultimately I think losing Steichen is bigger than losing Gannon by a large margin IMO. They need to figure out the passing game becuase You can’t beat good teams strictly running the ball.
Defense
-Schematically they are much more multiple. No more soft Cover 2 that every good QB can pick apart. They are still philosophically a bend but don’t break D but they are definitely mixing up looks and bringing more pressure than under Gannon. Besides the injuries, I think some of the poor play on the back end has to do with the new system and communication issues.
-D-line is better than last year, Jalen Carter is an absolute animal. I’ve seen him do things I’ve only seen a few DTs do, let alone rookies. Last night he slipped a double team basically without being touched. Defensive rookie of the year if he doesn’t get hurt. The rest of the DT’s and DE’s have been very good as well. Sack numbers aren’t there because teams are going to the quick game to beat the pass rush.
-D is definitely susceptible in the middle of the field. TE’s have been killing them and will continue to. Blankenship played well but the rest of the safety play has been suspect. I think Sydney Brown will be SS sooner than later.
-Losing Maddox is big, he’s one of the better slot corners. They do have some young guys they like but they“re young and raw. Could be growing pains In the back end of the D, especially if there are more injuries.
-Overall I think they’ll hold-up better against good QB’s than they did last year but the overall stats may not reflect it due to the impact of Injuries and early growing pains.
Special Teams
-Besides Jake Elliott and the long snapper, terrible, like they’ve always been under this ST coordinator. They get beat in the return game and they are disorganized in the kicking game.

All the bad aside they are 2-0 when they could easily be 0-2. You could even argue they deserve to be 0-2 based on some of the bad coaching decisions (NE game) and breaks they caught bs Minn (JJ play). Ultimately good teams find ways to win and that’s all that matter but they won’t beat good teams playing like they are.
