Felix Jones almost certainly would have notched the first 100-yard rushing game of his career if not for the strained knee he suffered in the third quarter.

Jones (eight carries, 94 yards) limped off the field following a 40-yard run that led to a Cowboys field goal. He put on a new knee brace and returned for two plays on the next series, then spent the rest of the game walking the sidelines.

Cowboys head coach Wade Phillips said Jones would be re-evaluated on Tuesday. Tashard Choice (18 carries, 82 yards, TD) finished the game as the primary running back.

Jones and Choice filled in for starter Marion Barber, who was deactivated because of a strained quad. Phillips said Barber was "close" to playing, but the team made a medical decision to rest him this week.

The Cowboys return to practice Wednesday.

Dam, knowing our medical staff this strained knee with turn into a 6 week injury.

Love Felix but all these injuries are getting ridiculous I mean can he just complete a run and keep going for another series or what?

Only Dallas fans would find something to complain about with a player who is averaging 9.4 a carry over his career.

At the end of runs he needs to stop running so upright, lower his shoulder and absorb a hit/deliver a hit.

Many times he is running upright and as soon as he gets hit, he goes down hard, fast and in weird positions. JMO

On what 50 carries......

Kudo's to the staff for not playing him after he got dinged.. Something minor could turn into something major... Felix will be fine.. If he misses a week or two bring up Ray Ray JR.. Our O line is playing outstanding run blocking.. Garrett keep taking the ball out of Tony's hand...

Rashard Mendenhall has 45 yards the entire season.

And he is healthy.

:laugh2:

Our O line is much better than Pitts. Not a fair comparison.

It is a bit disheartening to see that Felix is injured, again...We just aren't getting to see much momentum for this back yet, have we?...Hate to see him tease fans and go onto the shelf for an extended period of time again

No kidding...really sad actually. The guy has 90+ yards and all I'm hearing is he's a 'dissappointment' and 'made of glass.'

Felix is spectacular while at the same time undependable.

It's really frustrating.

How would you characterize his durability then?

A better nickname would be "Fragile Felix" vs. "Felix the Cat".

Great potential, but I never see him as a full time RB. Someone mentioned earlier he's a Reggie Bush type player. I agree totally. Give him 8-10 touches and have him return kicks. TC is a more complete back to back up Barber.

How much do we appreciate the lack of Barber last night. Some of those blitzes would have been picked up by Marion. I think him missing really affected the down field passing.

I love me some Felix. The dude can just flat out fly and make huge plays and I love that. I'd just like to see the poor guy be able to make it through an entire game without having to leave it early with a strain or a bruise or a pull or whatever. But I won't complain about the production he provides when he's in there.

we must be cursed- dude plays in the sec for 3 years and never gets a scratch and now he pulls something every time he falls down.
