Phillips Blog: Felix Has Strained Knee; Will Be Re-evaluated

we must be cursed- dude plays in the sec for 3 years and never gets a scratch and now he pulls something every time he falls down.

SEC != NFL. The NFL is faster, quicker, and the players hit a hell of a lot harder.

Comparing any college team to an NFL team is like a comparing a college team to a high school team. The Florida Gators (and any other NCAA football team for that matter) would probably get blanked 50+ to 0 by the worst of the worst NFL team.

Love Felix but all these injuries are getting ridiculous I mean can he just complete a run and keep going for another series or what?

yeah felix killed me last night on my fantasy team,
i had him, was doing good then he went out
these nagging injuries felix has he has got to get over this and play

A better nickname would be "Fragile Felix" vs. "Felix the Cat".

Great potential, but I never see him as a full time RB. Someone mentioned earlier he's a Reggie Bush type player. I agree totally. Give him 8-10 touches and have him return kicks. TC is a more complete back to back up Barber.

How much do we appreciate the lack of Barber last night. Some of those blitzes would have been picked up by Marion. I think him missing really affected the down field passing.

sometimes thats what players need, knowing what fans know or saying about him, like now saying his nickname from felix the cat is renamed fragile felix

one thing that probably didnt help felix is that felix had that toe injury and couldnt work out hard during the offseason, that could be adding some to those nagging injuries

I really don't care if he's injury prone or not, when he's on the field, he's dynamic. He's damn near unstoppable sometimes, and I'll guarantee you that if he could stay on the field, he would give AP a run for his money.

We've already made a mistake several years ago with a receiver who had early injury problems, went on to be a star receiver at Jacksonville.

that's a fact KD: he goes down HARD. My solution is simple: look to what Emmit and Franco did late in their careers: run out of bounds. IT isn't gutless. It's self preservation for god's sake. Getting tangled up with LB's and DB's on the sidelines is an injury waiting to happen.

Yep, it's frustrating all right.

I had him on my FF team and lost by .64 points. :banghead:

I can only imagine how Phillips and Garrett feel.

Adam_Schefter This isn't good: Jerry Jones told Ed Werder that he is concerned about the severity of Cowboys running back Felix Jones' knee injury.

Adam_Schefter Jones told Werder the RB was unable to loosen his left knee after suffering a knee strain and the feeling now is that he might need an MRI.

No kidding...really sad actually. The guy has 90+ yards and all I'm hearing is he's a 'dissappointment' and 'made of glass.'
no one is dissapointed in his output. no one.

were dissapointed hes hurt too much. sure 90 yards on 8 carries is sweet. how about being able to punch 8 more carries in?

tell me you wouldnt be dissapointed if he had to sit the next couple weeks?

Words can't describe how frustrating it is. The offense is just on a completely different level when he is in the game.

That's some news that we didn't need.

I used to think he reminded me of Gayle Sayers with his running style. Now he reminds me of him because of his injuries. Sayers never got to realize his potential and Im afraid Felix is heading down that same path

On what 50 carries......
How many other guys average 9+ yards in their first 50 carries? It is quite an accomplishment and a testament to his talent.

I hope this is just some bull**** that Werder pulled out of his arse. He is known to do that.

Only Dallas fans would find something to complain about with a player who is averaging 9.4 a carry over his career.

To me the big problem is you don't know if you can build a game plan with him. He's awesome, but frustrating. I feel bad for him, because by all accounts he is a super nice person, and looking at his face on the sideline he looked pretty upset he couldn't be out there.

Patience though, there is no reason to give up on this guy, hopefully he's just having a Jimmy Smith start, and will have a Jimmy Smith end...

I would think they'd do this anyway.
