Roy Williams is a Texas guy. Grew up in Odessa, played for Permian (the high school powerhouse made famous by "Friday Night Lights" and starred at U.T. He understands the significance of Sunday night's inaugural regular-season home opener at Cowboys Stadium.

That said, Williams has two goals:

"I want to be the one to have the first first down in that stadium and be the first one to score a touchdown," he said. "I usually give my ball and my gloves away, but I think I'm going to keep those if I'm the first one."

Williams admittedly gets more animated after some first downs than he does on touchdown celebrations. The first regular-season first down in Cowboys Stadium history would be significant enough to warrant a big salute.

Could this be because he gets more opportunities?

Come on Roy don't tell me what you are going to do just do it. Tell me about it afterwards.

I bet every player is secretly hoping to be the first to score a TD. I will throw up if the first points are a kicker. Especially if it's the Giants kicker.

Before you can do "it" you have to visualize yourself doing "it" and part of visualizing yourself doing "it", is talking about doing "it".

It's going to be a mess if the Giants score the first points at the new stadium. Talk about a nightmare scenario.

Just do it.

I play a lot of golf understand the importance of visualizing the shot before taking it, but no need to talk about it. I love having RW on the team but as you know playing in Dallas is a bit different than other places and sometimes you better off not talking about what you are going to do but just doing it.

I hope that is not the case but if it is it is. I'm more concerned about getting the 1st win a Cowboys Stadium

It will be overblown.

I am sure it happens in a lot of new stadiums.

Wouldn't it be cool if the Cowboys and Giants decided to play a soccer match instead?

IMO his personal and professional goal should be to get the win.

I hope the Cowboys win the coin toss so they have the first opportunity to score.

Tell you what, the dream scenario would have to be the Giants getting the ball first and the Cowboys Defense shutting them down or returning a pick 6 or Jacobs fumble.

Honestly, I'm hoping for a Felix Jones or Miles Austin kickoff return for a TD. i cant see anything blowing this stadium up and setting the tone like the first play at the New Stadium being the opening kickoff returned for a TD for the Cowboys!

You beat me to it. That is the perfect scenario.

Not near as cool as seeing a bunch of soccer fans castrated. I'd even reverse my previous desire to never watch a pay per view event that I pay for. I'd pony up.
