what I'm scared of is letting Wade go then going through a Campo-like era where we find ourselves saying "I wish we still had Wade"...

I agree. The grass is greener on the other side well not always. I think Wade has to earn his extension and if he can get this franchise winning in post season something they have not done since 1996 then I'll be more than happy to see him around for a few more seasons.
