We are seeing now what Chip Kelly truly believes, and what he is willing to do to get the football team that he wants, and it is utterly enthralling.

The Eagles on Thursday signed DeMarco Murray — the NFL’s leading rusher in 2014, arguably the most valuable player on the Dallas Cowboys last season — and they signed former San Diego Chargers running back Ryan Mathews even after speculation that they had scuttled a handshake deal with him to create room for Murray on the roster and under the salary cap. This is fun. This is fascinating. This doesn’t require Marcus Mariota to be the most interesting story in the NFL.

See if you can keep up: Kelly traded LeSean McCoy to Buffalo earlier this month. He decided to replace him with Frank Gore, only to have Gore reconsider signing with the Eagles and opt for the Indianapolis Colts. Kelly then found another running back — Mathews, who rushed for more than 1,000 yards twice with the Chargers — to replace Gore. But Kelly’s new presumptive starting quarterback, Sam Bradford, was Murray’s friend and roommate at Oklahoma, and during his introductory news conference Wednesday, Bradford told reporters that he’d been lobbying Murray to join him with the Eagles. And here we are. There will be a test later.

The double-barreled benefit of these moves is that Kelly has assembled a versatile and, if healthy, potentially dynamic backfield of Murray, Mathews, and Darren Sproles, and he’s managed to weaken the Cowboys — the defending NFC East champions — by coaxing Murray away from them

New QB, bad offensive line, no WRs, new RBs, new DB's, no linebackers, no pass rushers.

Yeah, scary.

Do you watch football? There front 7 will be outstanding. The pace they run that offense will have you gasping for breath...especially if you cannot control the clock. They have had a new qb often since chip Kelly arrived...and still managed double digit wins both years....writing them off is a big mistake

So what happened to that offense of theirs when Dallas played them in Philthy last season?

Chip Kelly is Dr. Frankenstein to the Eagles Frankenstein's monster. I don't see the pieces of that puzzle adding up to a winning combination.

Should put " if healthy" in bold 3 inch letters. Would be quite fitting if Sproles was the only survivor next year.....

Are we looking for opinions from Philly writers (Cowboy haters) to post in a Cowboys' forum? Enough of this crap already. This article is laughable.

Short term this will look like a good move on Philly's part. Long term that will remain to be seen. I suspect that Murray wont have the endurance to justify what they paid him.

If we don't shore up our defensive line, we will make the Murray FA acquisition look like a genius move on Kelly's part. And even more so If we don't recover from the loss of Murray and solidify our running game.

And I am sure on the Eagles message board, there is someone telling them that free agency is only a week old, there is plenty of talent out there and then there is always the draft.

This may sound crazy, but I think Murray is just trade bait.Kelly wants Mariotta in the worst way.No body in their right mind would count on Bradford and Murray to carry your team. They get hurt all the time and are not long term solutions.Maybe Murray and that #20 pick to the Jets.

Kelly didn't rebuild jack, he got a soft often injured QB, he replaced McCoy with a lesser back in Murray, he has no receivers who are a threat. He's destroyed that team in my opinio.
