Funny this is exactly what i hoped would happen. Move on from murray right before the wheels fall off and simultaneously cripple a division rival's cap.

No one truly knows what the future (next year) holds for us or the Eagles. That's why they play the game. Frankly, the rivalry just got a little tastier for my money. Bring it.

Exactly. If they really want to stick it to us, they would land a qb that is even close to Romo's level.

overpaying for a RB when the rest of the league devalues the position just indicates Chip is in over his head.

... has nothing to do with this thread. ;)

Nothing except the fact that Chip's playoffs hopes died at FedEx this year to a very weak Commander team. To make a point that his offense was not as dominate as some make it out to be.

Murray will be splitting carries with Matthews and Sproles. He will not be asked to be a work horse. His wearing down will not be an issue. The eagles have a very good offensive line and is not much of a drop off in talent.

I am not looking at this move with silver and blue glasses. This could be the move that makes the eagles offense nearly unstoppable. Remember they still have a draft to address certain weaknesses also.

And this could totally backfire on them. Which I am really hoping for. I would love nothing more than to see the eagles wheels fly off other than a Cowboy Super Bowl victory.

Reading the first post was enough for me - I refuse to give that sign any click-link views.

LOLZ @ how the Eagles rebuilt their roster by acquiring 2 good RB's (which they had), a LB with a bum knee, removing their best WR and most consistent pass rushing threat and downgraded @ QB.

Does the Murray acquisition hurt the Cowboys? For now, yes. But we are still loaded offensively, added a talened veteran back who may adds home run potential, and now can focus on BPA across the board. We are fine.

I appreciate Murray's contributions and all, but Philly is acting like DeMarco is Emmitt Smith in his prime.
Let Philly continue to underestimate our offensive line.

I am more concerned about the Giants than the Eagles. They have the potential for a very explosive offense that matches up well with our current defense.

I'm not concerned about the Giants. You know they haven't beaten us in 3 years right?

If you are talking about a team that might have improved or have the ability to improve, that is the topic. Not our current series record against different incarnations of their team.

The Commanders beat Dallas at home last year, should we be concerned?

We are seeing now what Chip Kelly truly believes, and what he is willing to do to get the football team that he wants, and it is utterly enthralling.

The Eagles on Thursday signed DeMarco Murray — the NFL’s leading rusher in 2014, arguably the most valuable player on the Dallas Cowboys last season — and they signed former San Diego Chargers running back Ryan Mathews even after speculation that they had scuttled a handshake deal with him to create room for Murray on the roster and under the salary cap. This is fun. This is fascinating. This doesn’t require Marcus Mariota to be the most interesting story in the NFL.

See if you can keep up: Kelly traded LeSean McCoy to Buffalo earlier this month. He decided to replace him with Frank Gore, only to have Gore reconsider signing with the Eagles and opt for the Indianapolis Colts. Kelly then found another running back — Mathews, who rushed for more than 1,000 yards twice with the Chargers — to replace Gore. But Kelly’s new presumptive starting quarterback, Sam Bradford, was Murray’s friend and roommate at Oklahoma, and during his introductory news conference Wednesday, Bradford told reporters that he’d been lobbying Murray to join him with the Eagles. And here we are. There will be a test later.

The double-barreled benefit of these moves is that Kelly has assembled a versatile and, if healthy, potentially dynamic backfield of Murray, Mathews, and Darren Sproles, and he’s managed to weaken the Cowboys — the defending NFC East champions — by coaxing Murray away from them

We shall see if all is right in E-Gal land after the season gets up and running in 2015 then check out this writers article.

We always struggle against the Commanders though. Even in our superbowl years we were always splitting with the skins. Something about them just throws the record out the window. But as of late the Giants have been no threat to us and I don't see that changing

It's a shame that such a rotten city has a football team nicknamed after our national bird. What a disgrace.
I say we make a movement and start a petition to make Philly change their name....Ducks come to mind, but that only insults Donald....but just get it changed.....

Maybe Cracked Eggs but chicken moms may get upset...so how about the Quacks....

I had misread you completely. My bad. You are correct!

I wonder what kind of column this guy will write when Sam Bradford tears his knee up for a third time, Mathews rips his hamstring in half and Demarco stubs his toe every other week like he seemed to do his first few years here in Dallas......

None of the Eagle backfield is as good as what the traded away. How does that improve their chances? McFadden, if healthy, is just as good as Murray, and, we have more money to spend....the Eagles have less.

Do you watch football? There front 7 will be outstanding. The pace they run that offense will have you gasping for breath...especially if you cannot control the clock. They have had a new qb often since chip Kelly arrived...and still managed double digit wins both years....writing them off is a big mistake

Hard to understand you with Chippys three piece set in your mouth.
