I'd have to agree that Philly is our bully. The reason sportsman states this is not because we swept in 05', and split series those other couple/three years, it's because when our season was on the line, or the game was big for whatever reason, the Eagles rose to the occasion, and the Cowboys got whooped!

So yes, the Eagles have been a bully to us.

And another one who thinks that any Cowboys win is not a "big win", but every Cowboys loss is a "big loss"...

Any time we play the Iggles, it's a big game... it's asinine to dismiss our wins and inflate theirs...

When the Eagles beat us, they kill us and it's usually ugly. When we beat them, we've typically won close games (except for twice this decade).

Gawd, I wish some of you guys would go back and check your facts before posting...

The Iggles beat us 10-6 in 07, hardly an "ugly" loss... and we beat them 38-17 that year, and 33-10 in 05... that's one close loss to the Iggles, and two of our four wins were by 3 TDs or more...

That's the truth, unburdened by selective perception...

We swept Philly in '05, and split with them in '06, '07, and '08.

Some "bully".
Dallas didn't split in 06, Bledsoe lost one game and Romo was paying attention to Carrie Underwood during hte other.

The Iggles USED to be the bully. Tom Cable beat them like he beats his ex's.

Go back and reread the initial post, paying particular attention to this part of the first sentence:

And then, consider that in the most recent future, the Boys are 4-4 against the Iggles... including 1-1 against them last year...

In those 8 games, the Boys have scored 176 points, 22 per game, the Iggles have scored 199, 24.9 per game, an average margin of less than 3 a game... a stat skewed greatly by that disappointing 44-6 loss at season's end last year... in the previous 7 games, the Boys had actually outscored the Iggles 170-155...

I know it's hard to get past the game last year, but the truth is, in the last 8 games, the Boys have also put some pretty solid beatings on the Iggles too-- 38-17 and 33-10...

IOW, in recent years this has been a good, competitive series... to suggest the Iggles have "bullied the Boys" in these recent years is quite ridiculous...

I'm not content to just look at the last 4 years and I don't care what anyone wants to call it (and I didn't say they were bullies, I merely posted the historical facts), the Eagles have had our number and I HATE it!! We may be 4-4 against them in the last 4 years but two of our losses to them were more important than all four of our wins combined. In the last decade, we have lost to them most of the time and when it matters most we definately lose.

In one we lost the division to them when they had a back up QB and in the other we missed out on going to the playoffs. In both cases they were a beat up team going through lots of turmoil and looked to be completely out of it. In the first instance they lost their QB, but came back to win the division and in the second, they were all but out after having a tie with Cincinatti. A couple of regular season blow-outs are nice but in no way make up for the sickening losses that kept us from winning the division or going to the playoffs.

I'm sick of the Eagles and I'm not happy with 4-4 in the last 8 games, I want to put together a 10 year beating on them like they did us, but that's probably not going to happen because during the time we went 4-4 with them, they have overhauled their roster and are just as competitive as ever. In fact with all the offensive weapons they've added, they might be even better. Hell, they may even be better off if their starting QB went out for good, got trade or retired.

As much as I hate the Eagles, they have proven to be a better run organization and a much better coached team and that makes me sick to my stomach. I can't begin to describe how hopeful I was that the *******es in Philly would run one of the best coaches they ever had out of town when he was dealing with all the problems with his sons.

As far as I can tell they're not going to stop being a thorn in our sides anytime soon. I just hope the Cowboys truly have turned a corner from an organizational philosophy stand point and will continue with a team first approach, build through the draft, develop young players, bring in, empower and keep good coaches, etc. If we do that, we should see a lot of battles with them and hopefully no more blow-outs (unless of course the Cowboys are the ones doing the blowing out).

I do think that the way the game starts out will be extremely important.

The 'Boys are playing well and their confidence is soaring... but I'm sure they haven't forgotten about 44-6.

If things start off slowly vs. Philadelphia and we fall behind by 10 or 14 points early, the crowd at the Linc will be going nuts and self-doubt could creep into the Cowboys psyche. "Here we go again."

But a fast start could have the opposite effect for us. An opening drive TD or even just an early turnover forced or a sack of McNabb could galvanize the entire team. It would really send the message of "this is NOT last year's team... 44-6 is ancient history."
