Mathews really ran hard against the Falcons. He was thumping people. I don't want to see any of them get a full head of steam, still don't trust our defensive backfield enough.

He ran for 4 yards against the Falcons and couldn't gain a yard on 3rd and 1 late in the game. Not sure what game you were watching but he was thumping anyone.

We'll see. To their credit, Philly was the only team to decisively beat us last year after Week 1. I like our chances on Sunday.

Yeah after the NFL screwed us with a Sunday Night road game and we got back to Dallas at 5am Monday...the Eagles played a noon home game.

I think the motivation factor works for us just as well. All the talk during the offseason was about how unstoppable the Eagles were; how without Murray the Cowboys will not be as successful, and the fact that we let the Giants hang around and almost win Sunday night. We have just as much motivation as they do, not to mention it's another divisional game, on the road none the less.

I hope you're right
If beat them with a depleted team in their house to put them at 0-2, that would be great

I am not arguing with you point about Tony, but we also don't have anything close to Julio Jones at the moment. We will need to run the ball successfully to win this game.

True, but there were alot of times Maxwell was just plain lost out there and Julio was runnin free and untouched.

What I can't wait for is Sean Lee versus his old buddy, Demarco Murray. I would love to see Sean lay the wood to DM. I could see Sean stripping DM of the ball in a crucial moment.

I believe our defense will have a little chip on their shoulders (no pun intended) and a little something waiting for DM, Matthews, Sproles; their entire offense.

You can bet your *** that Marinelli will be all over them for only getting one sack and no turnovers Sunday night. I don't know how much the absence of Gregory will affect them, but I expect a "spirited" showing from our D.

Their guards both suck. Going to be tough to score a lot of points with Tyrone Crawford spending more time in the Eagles backfield than Murray. Bradford doesn't seem to like it when guys get in his face. I think we may get a lot of interceptions.

Their OGs really struggled last night. PFF gave Barbre one of their worst grades for OGs from Week One. It was a big reason why Murray and Matthews struggled.

Crawford could be a real issue for them. They don't handle athletic DTs well.

Giants are an average team at best and almost beat us

Philly is a much better team than the Giants and they always get up for our game. This time there will be extra motivation for Murray and we are without hardy and McClain

Falcons are a mediocre team and beat Philly and the game might not have been that close if Ryan makes some simply throws.

The bulletin board factor, if you believe stuff like that, will be favoring us. As the OP said, when the stink of the Falcons game wears off, a majority of the fans and media will start assuming they'll blow us off the field.

Funny thing is some of their fans aren't as confident. Reading few EaGirl's MB, many are predicting us to win. They think Romo and company are going to "toast" Maxwell.

They are also concerned about lack of pass rush against our OLine.

What worries me is that Murray knows our playbook inside and out. That Philly D will be coming to play, and will have an inside advantage. Or am i wrong in believing that?

It doesn't matter even if you know what play is coming you still have to stop it. Our Oline is beast wouldn't worry about it.

I took that loss with a grain of salt. although both teams played on that sunday, cowboys had a sunday night game followed by a Thursday game. they just looked lethargic and tired. that was stupid scheduling.

If Matt Ryan doesn't underthrow 3TDs passes(one INT by Alonso and 2 coverages by Barwin on a RB) it isn't even close.

I don't see Romo missing those throws.

I was thinking the same thing watching that game.

True - but I read an interesting article today (can't remember where or I would post a link) saying how Philly's defense is extremely vulnerable to play action and Matt Ryan really exposed them.

I fully expect us to do the same - even worse.

Talk about stupid scheduling, the 49ers played the last game of the 1st week and the Steelers played the 1st game of the week.
This week, 49ers @ Pitt 1:00 EST.

Didnt they play 3 games in like 12 days or something crazy? I cant remember the exact number. All i remember is we played a lot in a short period of time, and also had to fly to london. Am i mistaken?
