Wow, so last night, I had to run to the bank and I stepped outside and saw this HUGE wall of dust coming my direction...

Got to the bank, about 3-4 minutes away and this is where it was...

Deposited some cash, took about 2-3 minutes, and it was like this outside...

Here was my car in the morning.

I guess this storm was 60 miles wide and traveling up to 30 mph, here is a link to another slideshow.

That looks pretty crazy.

So did you see the face of Imhotep in the dust?

This was the worst dust storm that I have ever seen. I've lived here since 2006.

A couple of my friends, who have lived here their whole lives also said this is the worst one they have seen. We could BARELY make out the houses across the street.

Maybe you and your friends should do something to clean up the city or area...that storm would not have been as bad if you guys did not let the place get so dirty in the first place. ;) :p:

It's a little hazy and dirty outside but nothing that bad.

Good to hear, I have a pretty long drive to Sedona but looking forward to it.

Item #47 on the list of why living in Lubbock sucks. Dust storms.

Item #9 on the list of why living in Lubbock is great, dust storms leave tell-tale red sand trails of any potential air leaks around windows and doors.

I just found this trending on youtube....

The pictures and video are amazing. Is it a fairly common occurrence in those areas? (obviously not that size)

Fun, reminds me of one time getting out of Houston at night in one of the worst fogs I had ever seen, driving virtually blind.

Last one I remember was last year. So not THAT often but once or twice a year.
