for the Suns this is a good sign...the grizzlies stink, so the Suns are doing what they are supposed to do, completely destroy them....

i have to give the Suns props for the win on Sunday, even though I am not happy with the play of the Spurs down the stretch....too many missed layups and not enough stops on defense. I wasn't happy with a few of the calls by the refs either, but all fans feel the refs do a crappy job. SA had a 5 pt lead and got outscored 14-2 in the last 5 minutes of the game.......there is no excuse for that........87 pts scored on a team that is giving up well over 100....PATHETIC

One thing I am happy about though....Pop will use the things he learned on Sunday, educate his team, and use that knowledge to dismantle the Suns if they meet in the playoffs....cause we all know Pop >>>> D'Antoni

Interesting you say that. This is what Pop had to say about Dantoni the other day when Pop was interviewed:

"'Pop' backs D'Antoni"

Before the game, San Antonio coach Gregg Popovich would not believe that there had been a swelling of fan criticism of D'Antoni. Once convinced, he said, "It's ridiculous. Silly. I'll just stop there."

But he didn't. After the game, Popovich added, "The last thing Mike D'Antoni has to worry about is fans who are not knowledgeable, who react childishly. It's a hell of a program. He's a hell of a coach. Criticism he gets for whatever he got around here is just ignorant."

I think the Suns can compete with anybody in the West but they haven't proven that yet this year.

pop always complements people, specially someone who was a former employee of his like D'antoni, that doesnt mean that pop isnt a much better coach than D'antoni, thats not even debatable

what does this have to do with Pop being a better coach than D'Antoni?

It was interesting that you brought up the fact that Pop would dismantle Dantoni and the Suns because it reminded me of that quote the other night.

The Spurs are getting beat quite soundly tonight.

did you forget about the part where the regular season isnt as important as the playoffs? its obvious pop is more concerned with minutes at this particular point in time than winning games, its really frustrating but its nothing new to us as far as pop is concerned

Are you serious? You win so you say theres a reason, you lose theres a reason. I dont buy it anymore. You guys got beat. Id at least own up to it. I cant think that anyone in the Spurs franchise is tanking games for the post season.

Come on.

its not like they are trying to lose the game, but at the same time pop knows the team and knows how old they are and is trying to limit the minutes right now, we are playing 7 games in 10 days and he is being very careful with everyone's minutes. Im not making excuses for us losing but there are adjustments pop makes in the playoffs that he wont be making right now because he is more concerned with minutes.

all im trying to say is that pop isnt letting the players that are actually hitting shots play long minutes because he is controlling their minutes and thats part of the reason they are losing, along with the fact that the offense stinks right now. its a tough stretch but well be ok, there are no back to backs or 7 games in 10 days in the playoffs

there are a lot of spurs fans that are freaking out about it and are cursing pop to the high seas because of the conservative way he is coaching right now. But rather than get all caught up in that im just gonna trust in him since i find myself saying "i guess pop knew what he was doing all along" so many times by the end of the year. It sucks to loose 3 out of 4 but im not gonna freak out about just yet.
