Yea, nothing like comparing yourself to the dregs to feel good. I mean, why compare to the successful teams?

Compare America's Team to anyone you want.

There are 31 other teams in the NFL. We have more Super Bowl wins than 29 of them. Nobody has more Super Bowl appearances than our 8.

40% of the league have NEVER won the Super Bowl.

Have some perspective.

0 Super Bowls and 2 playoff wins in the past 20 years.

Oh, Ive got plenty of perspective. Ive been following the team for 40+ years. Ive got the perspective of my first 20 years or so when the playoffs and Super Bowl appearances were the norm. In those first 20 years I got to watch them play in 7 Super Bowls. In the last 20 years Ive had to root against any successful team hoping they dont get "too close" to having 5 Lombardis of their own. Im still clinging to the 5, but that seems like a lifetime ago. And thats not just some perspective, its reality.

If anybody needs to have some perspective, its those who are satisfied with 20, 30 or even 40 yr old accomplishments.

No i'm not saying give up or that you're 1 player away but you are far closer to what you were last year than you are a 4 win team. Whether that's 10 wins or whatever it may be. Don't give up a kings ransom on anything. Draft the best player available unless its a linemen and keep it moving. They are in a position to where they can draft any position and it will be a upgrade to this team. Its not about overvaluing the talent its about not overreacting to this season.

no we're not, this team is 4-12, we are close right now to that than to 12 wins. There's nothing to say that a healthy Romo will guarantee you 12 wins. What happens if Romo gets injured in the first game, do we go 1-15 and be happy and count on Romo to be healthy the next year.

Like Parcells was fond of saying, you are what you're record says you are, this is a lousy 4-12 team, and Romo's injury is not the only reason. Take Garrett's high and low records, 4-12 and 12-4, and Garrett is exactly what this team 8-8, 3 years in a row.

Get ready for life without Romo.

By the way, how many Super Bowls/playoff games did we win WITH Romo ???

What's sad is Romo is our best shot by far since Aikman and the Jones family still can't build a team around him.

the sign said it best tho, since 97 Dallas is 152-152, .500. I believe Romo was in grade school when this started and he'll be long retired as this continues. I can't wait for the day when CBS puts up another picture in 5 years from now stating how we've been 500. or worse and Cowboy fans will try to rationalize it out.

There's no rationalizing. Jerry Jones is the only common denominator and since he announced he's doing things his way we have sucked. I just wish I could see Jerry's smug little face when he sees that picture. What does the man need to happen for him to realize his way isn't working?

It's really a shame. The Star is tarnished.

There's nothing to guarantee 12 wins but this is atleast a 9 to 10 win team which is what I stated above. Especially in this NFL where the best team was the Carolina Panthers. You can't play the injury game. Anyone can get hurt. What if Aaron Rodgers gets hurt next year or Cam Newton? That goes for everyone.

Parcells had a lot of sayings. He said a lot of things and did a lot of things including drafting Barbie Carpenter. This is not a 4 win team with Romo. They won 3 out of 4 games WITH Romo but i'm suppose to believe with him they'd only win 4 games all year?

I feel SO SORRY for you as a fan. The hardship of clinging to ONLY 5 Super Bowl rings.

Nope. With all due respect, you have no perspective. Our ring-less streak isn't even as long as half the league's ringless streak.

You've had it DAMN good overall, even if the last 18 years (LOL at the cherry-picking) haven't been great, but merely average instead.

Jerry hasn't put a good staff together that's his fault. A good staff starts with a solid head coach. He's already stated he won't make major changes he forces the coaches to change. After the 08 season instead of firing Wade Phillips he made him change. He hires puppets and yes men.

So he doesn't have a good staff now? Its amazing they even won 13 games factoring in their GM sucks, their head coaching sucks and their coaches are terrible and our defense sucks. Makes you wonder how on earth this team even won 13 games and if it is Romo he deserves to be GM and coach of this team since he does it all. Might as well make him safety too while we are at it.

Oh, I wouldnt trade my fan experience for anything that any other team could offer. Iv been to numerous games over the years including 2 Super Bowls. Here's a lil perspective. I was at Super Bowl XXX, the last post season success we've witnessed, but it was 20 years ago and I want some more. You might be satisfied with and feel good about things, but my perspective says the last 20 years is nowhere near good enough for the Dallas Cowboys. You see, for 20 years they taught me to expect more and expect success. And what they have given in return is mediocrity. It used to be that we set the standard that everybody would strive for. Now we have fans saying that things arent all that bad because we arent quite as bad as the Browns. And you're telling me I need some perspective?

I use to like Jerry... The fact that he keeps Garrett around has made me can't stand him. It's clear this man is all about his ego more than anything else. And Stephen is just as bad...

Jerry has disrespecting legends on football for Jason Garrett, including Wade Phillips, Dan Reeves and Bill Callahan.. And wasted Romo's career because of this loser...

Yep ... there was a sense of hope even though we went 1-15 in 1989. There was a sense of purpose and direction with Jimmy Johnson leading this team.

There's none of that with this (these) teams. Same old crap over the past 20 years. Throw darts blindly and hope one hits a target. No direction, no purpose. It's literally watching a blind man driving a car.

Oh they had direction.. Blame everything on the defense, thinking the offensive philosophy of Garrett could get them to the SB.. That's how clueless they are..

Any sub-par could understand Garrett was in over his head in the Wade years. Hell, the Rams HQs were inundated by calls whe rumor spread Garrett got a HC offer from them, the Rams turning around to say they never had one in place... The Rams fans even knew he was trash...

Well there's a decade more to choose from. And as far as I'm concerned Jerry gave an incompetent coach the keys to the franchise. So when our QB went down we weren't able to win despite multiple opportunities to do so.
If there was EVER going to be a season that your coach helped you pull through it would be this type of season, where the conference sucked and in week 11 we were still in the hunt with a losing record.
Coaching sucked, I'd say we should've been prepared with a decent backup but I think we had one. We just didn't have a coach that knew how to use him. So yeah that's a Jerry thing IMO

Jason's genius was supposedly demonstrated in his QB coaching... Yet the guy always brought in turds at the tail end of their careers. He hasn't done anything without Romo and couldn't spot a decent QB if he stared at him in the face...

This year they blame the QB situation, but that was his claim to fame.. Even Jim Zorm got a back-up playing in the playoffs..
