So he doesn't have a good staff now?

He doesn't have a good head coach and Marinelli's magic ran out in Tampa. The special teams coach needs to go along with Wade Wilson because none of the young QBs have developed under him.

Damn right.

Lombardi Trophies don't lose their shine and the rings don't expire. We've got 5 of them and Jerry played a major role in 3 of those.

Unless you're a youngster who was too young to remember the '90s, you have NOTHING to complain about. You've had it DAMN good and so have I.

Sorry to disappoint you!

Why even play the game anymore? We've won enough

What as the excuse last year with 13 wins?

Jerry signed off based on what his scouts and coaches told him. He didn't shove Weeden down their throats. This isn't Jerry's playbook or his conservative defense. But Jerry doesn't escape blame. I just believe he paid people rather well and no one fulfilled their potential and if that's all on Romo then we might as well make Romo GM and Head Coach as well.

What did last year put in the trophy case? Did we win a wildcard game? Ok a glorified divisional playoff, same thing. Still, are we really to the point of hanging our hats on "hey guys, in 2014 we one ONE playoff game". That's why they laugh at us LOL.

How many playoff games has JG won? Romo? Dez? The best OL in football? Lee? Witten? Ok JJ since Jimmy's guys left?

The "in the past 20 years" qualifier is hilarious to me. To each their own.

How the heck do you blithely dismiss 20 years of futility?

Do you understand that for folks born in the 80's and beyond this team has been nothing more than slightly better than the Lions and Browns?

I was born in '85 and still vividly remember the last 3 Super Bowls. Try again.

Are you younger than that? If not, you have NOTHING to complain about.

You were 7 years old and "vividly remember" the 92 Superbowl?

Did you head out to the sports daycare center afterwards to stick it to your tiny little Eagles and Giants fan friends over juice boxes?

The Cowboys won their first SB in 71 when I was two. Other than ragging on Eagles fans for having no rings, why do I care about that more than 20 years of the team being utter mediocrity?

I feel SO SORRY for you as a fan. The hardship of clinging to ONLY 5 Super Bowl rings.

Nope. With all due respect, you have no perspective. Our ring-less streak isn't even as long as half the league's ringless streak.

You've had it DAMN good overall, even if the last 18 years (LOL at the cherry-picking) haven't been great, but merely average instead.

This is the type of attitude that average teams have. I don't want to be the Miami Dolphins who brag about their undefeated season. I don't want to be the Bears who brag about their 85 season. I don't want to be the Jets who still hang on to Joe Nameth's guarantee.

Not this fan, not this team. This is the Dallas Freaking Cowboys here. America's team. I expect us to compete as early as often as possible. Now there is always some down time after a franchise qb, rb, wr cycle out and we did our time. But now we got a legit Franchise qb, wr, offensive line (we lost the rb). It's time for us to win again and everyone knows it.

If you want to be a fan that is cool with dwelling on past accomplishments then be a Dolphins, Bears or Jets fan. I for one am not cool with that.

This "Cowboys' fans are spoiled and should be happy with what they've got since 89" is the attitude of the owner and GM and that's why we only have a handful of playoff seasons and 2 play off wins in the last 18 years.

Jerry wants us all to think like this, with this thinking then he has no reason to put a quality product on the field because we're happy customers due to the product that was on the field 20 years ago. Screw that, I'm a Cowboys fan. I expect to compete. If I didn't expect to compete I'd be a Jay cutler Bear's fan or a die hard Dolphins fan with a poster on my wall of a super bowl victory that happened before I was born.

To each their own. We've had more success in the Super Bowl era than almost any other team. If you want to find negatives in order to feel sorry for yourself and/or angry at Jerry Jones... well, enjoy!

I'm counting my blessings. America's Team has more jealous haters than anyone. My Warriors run the NBA with an iron fist. Life's good.

Look, I get that blah blah blah Super Bowl era stuff, but this organization is a mess at the moment because of one collarbone?

I'm concerned this team isn't as good as we thought we were and that heathy Tony Romo wasn't going to get us anywhere.

I do like Curry and the Warriors. I am angry at Jerry Jones but I'm not feeling sorry for myself. I was born in '75 and I've seen the Cowboys go from the top to the bottom then to the top and now statistically and on the field being the most average team in the last 18 years. I'm not living in the past, and trying not to live in the present, but what I feel is intense frustration due to a not so good looking future. I could live with 18 years of mediocrity if there was some hope for the future. But with Jerry's post Jimmy Johnson team building skills, his head coach decisions, and horrible quotes about how well he is doing as GM then my hope for the future is shaken. that's the frustrating part for me. The past is cool but no future sucks.

Just the idea that he announced that Garret would return and there's never been a doubt about his status is frustrating. Garret is statistically 500 and if not for heroics of Romo then he would be well under 500 and Jerry believes in him.

I am angry at Jerry and will never forgive him for being gift wrapped Tony Romo and he used the prime of Romo's career for a coach in training. And that coach proves to be a 500 coach, and in year 5 he is still a coach in training. So by the time Garret figures out how to be a coach, Romo's kid might be available for drafting. It's inexcusable for Jerry to use the prime of Romo's career to try and make Garret a head coach. Garret has never been a head coach on any meaningful level and you are blessed with arguably one of the top five qb's in the league and you surround that qb with inadequate coaching and personnel moves. Jerry doesn't deserve to have players like Romo and Witten.

I don't feel sorry for me, I feel sorry for Romo and Witten who lost their prime years for a want-to-be coach to learn to be a coach, so a want-to-be GM can say "I told you so".

I never said I was happy with the results. The worst seasons were the ones between Aikman and Romo. If those would have continued then I could easily see the franchise was run into the ground; however, it is clear things aren't as bad as all that with a healthy Romo. Three straight 5-11 seasons is as pathetic as it gets. A 4-12 season because of an injury is just something that happens. I see a very clear difference in this team and those Campo teams, which were hapless.

What you have is a case of "not getting it". What this year showed us without Romo is exactly what kind of team and coaching staff we really have playing behind Romo. This should have opened the eyes of EVERY Cowboys fan as to exactly how far this franchise really is from winning a SB. Romo has been covering up many many problems for years now and it should be painfully obvious.

There shouldnt be any fans running around saying "everything will be fine when Romo comes back". And especially since Romo has a bad back, bad collerbone, and is way over the downside of his career. And with Jones proclaiming to everyone that he isnt drafting Romo's successor, this should be another red flag that even after the old Romo goes down it will be even longer before we can even become relevant again. So short term and long term we appear to be screwed.

But by all means, who cares. Nothing to see here. Nothing to worry about. Everything will be fine right?

The thing that makes me sick is Jerry is probably making more money with this team than any other owner is making with theirs.......and he's .500.

I was saying it when I watched the game yesterday. The stand were full and everyone was cheering. LOL

As a whole, Cowboy fans are the most clueless fans in the NFL. Now Philly fans are nasty, but at least they get results. No way can the owner keep around a Chip Kelly. They are going to go out and hire a big name. The fans wouldnt stand for anything less. Garrett would last one season there. No one would show up at the games. They would be booing the entire season. They would run the owner out of town. But not in Dallas. Clueless fans will show up every time and cheer. Mediocrity and losing simply doesnt bother them enough obviously. Everything will be fine. LOL

I live a 6 hour drive from Dallas. My neighbor got free tickets thru his work somehow and couldn't wait to drive down there to cheer on our team. Does that make him clueless or die hard? If I had free tickets, I would have driven the family down there and done the same thing. The Cowboys are my team and always have been and always will be. Does that make me clueless also? I will even root and cheer for them to win a preseason game. Maybe instead of clueless I am just a dedicated hard core fan who loves his team.

I went to a game this year. A buddy had a free ticket for me and so I went. That stadium is worth the price of admission. And if you accept the fact that they stink and you dont care of they are going to lose, then you have a good time. But I wouldnt be buying tickets to the games. No chance. Maybe one or two if I lived there.

But the problem lies with the media as well. Too many people are polite with Jones in the media. He would get run out of other cities by now. Garrett would get run out of other cities. Its hard to believe considering the storied history of the Cowboys that so many fans seemed to accept a coach like Garrett or a GM like Jones.

Clueless is the part where people stick up for players, coaches, or GM's that either hold this team back or obviously dont belong on the field just because they wear the star. Blind support is where the clueless comes in. Cheering for your team to win has nothing to do with it. Unless you were really cheering for us to win the game against the Commanders yesterday. Then I would have to say your were sorely misguided. Maybe you cheer a few good plays or whatever, but no way if you love the Cowboys and are a die hard Cowboys fan that you were cheering for them to win that game yesterday. No way.

The way you guys talk you would think winning a championship is as easy as playing Madden football....goodness. Are you seriously devaluing a 13 win season?

My friend who is a Commanders fan and hates the Cowboys posted that on his FB page....I asked if he bothered to check his own team's record before laughing. The Skins are 122-168-1 since 1997.

Winning a championship should happen more than once every twenty years. Especially If your the Dallas Cowboys. If you don't believe that, there is really no hope for you.

And a 14 Win season means nothing, not if you can't even make it to the NFC championship game.
