RW was in the same draft as Peppers in 02.
I'd take Ware over Merriman any day.
The other Roy Williams.

And anyone who would take someone other than LT in 2001 is smoking crack, IMO.
Casey Hampton over LT? NO FREAKIN WAY.

Here are the guys I was hoping we could somehow get at the time:

2001 DT Casey Hampton
2002 DE Julius Peppers
2003 OT Jordan Gross
2004 QB Philip Rivers
2005 LB Derrick Johnson
2006 RB Reggie Bush

anyone who doesn't say Palmer is silly

Not if one decided on Roethlisburger. Why would you need two QBs? I'd take the one with no injury and a ring.

2001 Tomlinson
2002 Roy Williams
2003 Newman
2004 Roethlisburger
2005 Too early to call
2006 Again too early

we could have had Shaun Alexander if you know what, didn't happen

... and ANOTHER 1st rounder. Not sure we'd have taken Alexander, but the Seahawks dammed wouldn't have him.

I forgot about the 'other' RW. My bad. Anyhow I agree with BewareofWare's
list. LT + Palmer+ Fitz = WOW!

Roth is a "busdriver" Palmer is nearing "elite"....
If we had Palmer, he probably wouldn't have gotten the knee injury and subsequently Roth wouldn't have a ring

I gotta say, my initial impressions of Carson Palmer were not very high. I thought he was a 8 game wonder during his last year at USC. Prior to those 8 games Carson was a nondescript QB.

His progression and development has been flawless. He was peaking prior to the gruesome injury as to be expected from the 1st overall pick in year 3.

Call him what you will, but he does have a ring and is statistically as good as any QB in history over his first two seasons.

01- Tomlinson
02- Peppers or Freeney
03- Plamer
04- Fitzgerald
05- Edwards
06- Bush

with our picks
01- Steve Smith over Q and Anthony Henry over Dixon
02- I can live with Roy, but we could have had Freeney or Portis
03- Can live with Newman, could have had Polomalu or McGahee
04- still would take Jones but would choose Vasher over Rogers
05- Ware without a doubt
06- Carpenter

If picking one from each draft to have all together on my team I would go like this....

2001- Chad Johnson (my go to WR)

2002- Roy Williams ( my incomparable intimidator)

2003- Carson Palmer ( My franchise QB )

2004- Robert Gallery (My Left Tackle )

2005- DeMarcus Ware ( My dominant pass rusher )

2006- Reggie Bush- ( my RB/ ultimate game changing weapon)

If simply asking who would I take from each draft on an individual basis, in other words I am just taking who I think is the best player each year with out factoring in team needs, or factoring the players from the other years, then...

2001- Ladanian Tomlinson

2002- Roy williams

2003- Carson palmer

2004- Ben Rothlisberger

2005- DeMarcus ware

2006- Reggie Bush

LaDainian Tomlinson... throw all the others back in the water... Peppers almost tempted me, but I think I'll be satisfied with the present DL this year to not worry... But again... LT is the man!!!

2001: LaDainian.
2002: Dwight Freeney
2003: Carson Palmer
2004: Larry Fitzgerald
2005: Demarcus Ware
2006: D'Brickashaw Ferguson

I'd have a LT, ROLB, LOLB, QB, WR, RB.

I'd really be missing a shutdown CB....
