Pick Buehler's PK USC profile *Merged*

He did more reps at 225 then Max Unger. I see them moving him to ILB!

Are we really gonna leave a roster space open for a kickoff specialist?

I have a feeling we're gonna try to trade Folk or something. You don't draft a kicker in the 5th round when you already have a pro bowl kicker. You just don't do it, period.

Folk doesn't do so good on kickoffs. This guy does. We probably carry two kickers to get better field position.

No way we waste a roster spot on keeping a KO specialist.

He also competed in volleyball, golf and track. ...Also lettered in volleyball, golf and track.
we drafted him as a golfing partner for Tony

Strengths:
Excellent athlete...Very good size...Great accuracy inside forty...Nice elevation and hangtime...Does an outstanding job on kickoffs...Very strong...Terrific tackler...Can be a factor in coverage...Still has upside.

Weaknesses:
Limited experience...Unproven beyond fifty yards...Had some bouts with inconsistency...Shaky long range accuracy...How will he handle big, pressure situations ?...Not accustomed to bad weather conditions.

Notes:
Uncle, George Buehler, was a offensive guard for the Oakland Raiders (1969-78) and Cleveland Browns (1978-79)...Father, John, was a 3-year letterman (1969-71) on Southern Cal's track team as a shot putter...Another uncle, Charles, lettered in football at Stanford for 3 years (1960-62)...Transfer from Santa Ana Junior College...Mainly a kickoff specialist in 2006 but he also worked at fullback and safety (didn't see action)...Took over the starting kicker job in 2007 and 2008...Was named 1st Team All-Pac-10 as a senior...Never attempted a 50+ yarder with the Trojans...Possesses intriguing physical tools and certainly showed a lot of potential as a placekicker but his best chance to make a roster will be as a kickoff specialist...Is a draftable prospect.

Maybe as a KO guy. Folk's KO's leave a lot to be desired.

So true. If that's that plan with this guy then he better win us the field position war regularly. You could count on him not shying away from tackling a guy too.

We have more luxury positions than roster spots. This is starting to look ridiculous.

Perhaps the Cowboys are seeking a kickoff specialist? That's the only reason I can devise for drafting a kicker.

Ok, father of a current scout and former scout himself gave me a little insight into Buehler telling me that he has actually worked out for several teams at TE and FB and we were not the only team that was going to look at him in the 6th for just that.

Jerry Jones, what a MORON!!!

If this MORON took Mason Crosby a couple of years ago, we wouldn't be drafting another kicker

So he can be used as a backup FB/TE and also a kickoff specialist/backup kicker.

Odd.

That doesn't make any sense. Why wouldn't we just draft a FB or a TE rather than take a project in the 5th?
