Miami didn't have the tools that we have, we have potential, and some cap room. We're one Jimmy draft away from being dominant.

One Jimmy Draft away?

I don't think so.

Jimmy likes different players on defense than what we have come to have.

No more Dats, Dexters and so on in the LB corps.

We went directly away from those types of players with parcells and the 3-4.

I have a feeling the next coach will be someone who will either run or have his DC run the 3-4.

No thanks on Jimmy.

I seen what he did in the salary cap era without a walker trade.

His team got blown out of the water in a playoff game that was so bad he retired afterwards.

I don't think he has the heart to be a coach any longer.

I think he likes his life just the way it is now.

your probably right, he probably doesnt WANT to coach (which he has said numerous times)

but he is alot better coach than Parcells...he's alot more succesful than Parcells has been and while he didnt win big in Miami, he did win playoff games there on a team that had very little cap room to make moves, plus he was stuck with Marino

honestly we have a nearly perfect set up for Jimmy's style of 4-3 defense...these guys probably fit the 4-3 better than the 3-4:

RDE-- Ware is a pefect Taylor/Haley type player

LDE--Spears is big, fast and athletic...he says he has struggled to keep his weight up, he could easily play at 285-290 and be a force

DT-- Ferguson fits any scheme, but said himself he prefers the 4-3

DT--Ratliff seems to be a prototype JJ 4-3 style DT

WOLB---Kevin Burnett is a perfect ft here...fast, athletic and can play in space

MLB--James would be a nice MLB in the 4-3

SOLB---Carpenter would need to lose weight...Ayodele probably doesnt fir the 4-3 either

the CB's and S's are fine...we are also deep up front, with alot of rotations type guys...he could easily make his style of defense work

A few weeks ago on FOX they were mentioning that Mike Zimmer might be a HC candidate in Dallas when Parcells retires. How would you guys feel if this happened? Could Zimmer be a hidden treasure waiting to be unleashed like Sean Peyton? I mean after Payton looked as bad as Parcells when he was in Dallas but is a totally different coach in NO.

Please no.

and I left out one other possibility up front...maybe Hatcher starts at LDE and they move Spears inside permanently to DT...having a front 4 of Ware, Ratliff or Ferguson, Spears and Hatcher would be extremely fast and athletic, but still have some size as well...

Rich Rodriguez is a heck of a college coach but I don't see him being a good NFL Coach.

Too much spread offense and trust me if you hated zimmers defense you would be in even worse shape if you seen the 3-3-5.:(

It took me a while to put his name down. I'm only trying to replace Parcells here.;)

If Jones would hire Mack Brown and give him the go ahead to staff himself I highly doubt Brown would not bring along Dean.

If that's the case, I wouldn't be surprised to see Les Miles coaching this team.

What has Les Miles done to prove he could coach the Dallas Cowboys, or any team in the NFL...just curious?

Nothing really on the NFL level. Who would you want to coach Dallas ?

he was an NFL asst for a few yrs (here actually)...he on at Oklahoma St and proved there he could coach up a team in big games (beat OU a couple of times)...he's done well at LSU now

not saying he is Jimmy Johnson when he came from Miami, but the guy isnt bad

1. Jimmy Johnson
2. Rex Ryan
3. Jon Gruden (but not if we have to give up what Tampa gave for him)

I'm starting to warm to Rex Ryan more and more. I would like to see what he can do with this defense. The only thing that concerns me would be that he would need a great mind to run the offense.

If Cowher or Fisher aren't available give me Dick LeBeau..... I'll trust Dick to find the OC to compliment his great D.

I agree w/ LeBeau - kind of. But waht about Parcell's as HC and adding LeBeau in place of Zimmer?
