Which position scares you the most on this current roster?

Believe me, I've heard plenty of people tell us that we've been blessed with a decent, good or great O-line for years, and that "you can't expect to have All-Pros at every position“ and I get the sentiment — but Terrence Steele scares the crap out of me. I hold my breath every passing down when there is not a Tight End covering the Right Tackle.

Pressures are a wildly subjective, unmeasurable thing No two sources measure them the same.
Pressure is not subjective.

But yes a lot of so called expert sites twist what is a pressure so it fits their agenda.

How often have i read how great Prescott is against pressure. Where if you look deeper most articels just count a blitz against him. They never put in the work to see if the QB actually was under real pressure.

It’s easily offensive tackle for me.

If that position struggles, it could potentially cost you your starting quarterback. And if that happens, the season is over.

I’m cautiously optimistic that both Guyton and Steele will improve, but also concerned if that doesn’t happen.
Terrence Steele is not improving at this point in his career.

I’d largely agree. The cowboys have some nice pieces at edge, but it’s dangerous to count too much on young unproven players at the position. I’d bet that EZ/Lawrence are a fantastic duo in 2027 or 2028. Tough to count in those guys in 2026 though. I’ve said for a while now that I’d like to bring in one more veteran edge player that can push guys for snaps, although it’s probably not my top concern. Gary is a solid player but has been trending down the last couple years.

LB leaves me concerned. The likely starting duo of Winters/Overshown is going to flash and look dominant at times. With that said there is always a big injury concern about overshown, and both players are ideally weak side players.

I’d add OT pretty high to the list too. If the rest of the offense is at full strength the cowboys are probably good enough to overcome the tackle situation, but how often is one side of the ball completely healthy? The injury ripple effect worries me if Tyler guyton can’t take a step forward this season.
If 1 tackle plays well, it is easier protecting the other but not both

There are options behind Steele if he struggles, but we cannot say the same about Lt

Running Back
If Williams goes down or regresses a bit, we're in trouble with what we have behind him.
Our O-line and running game requires a bruiser and the only one in the RB room with that style, not named Javonte, would be the untested Mafah.

The entire defensive line. Williams is their only proven consistent rusher.

This can be dissected several ways.
As every position will have concerns. Most of them at backups.

Offense:
QB: Dak goes down, does anyone believe Howel or Milton can get the job done.
RB: More so who steps up to be #2, and can he be consistent.
TE: How will the truly be behind Ferguson, and some are not so high even on him.
OL: Many still say Steele and Guyton, will either improve, stay healthy. And yes, it is a concern. Is it as much as some make it out to be?
WR: This is the least concern of any positional group.

Defense:
Too many unknowns with all the changes, both players and coaches
CB: Seems they have some depth on paper. Need to see how they play.
S: This seems it can be a strength for once.
DT: This too, seems to be one of the better positional groups, for once.
MLB: A work in progress, but a much more viable group on paper than last year, who steps up.
OLB / DE: This as well, same as MLB, who steps up, what will the rotation be like. But same, much better than last year.

ST's:
Really no concerns here except KO and PR coverage, can it improve.
Will Turpin be 100%. As I do not believe he was last year.

Coaching:
2nd year under Brian's offense so thing should be more instinctive now.
New defense yet again, however, many are excited over Parker and his new coaching staff.

Phillips had 2 sacks for them.

Definitely, they lost Phillips to Carolina and knew they needed help.
Eagles defense got better and in part why he got 30 million a year. There’s no scheme where pressure isn’t important. If edge didn’t matter they wouldn’t have invested so much in the last year in Phillips and Greenard.

I agree, this is an important offseason for Guyton and he not only has to show significant growth, but an ability to stay on the field. Steele is OK, far better as a run blocker but one of those guys you feel could be upgraded. Depth is pretty shallow as well and would have liked to add a veteran guy into the mix.

The stats are what they are. They don’t lie.

Phillips had 2 sacks as an Eagle. You’ll have to prove that they “got better”.

I don’t deny that the Eagles needed help at that position. The Cowboys group looks better overall.

So the only way to generate pressure?

They had 16 sacks prior to getting Phillips….they had 26 sacks after trading for him. How is that not getting better?

The one tangible measurement. Nobody grades pressures the same way so it’s a useless measurement.
But you use sacks? When a sack can occur from coverage or 6 seconds after hiking the football.

I’m confused so you are saying they don’t need pressure from the edges?
