Pickens is a nice problem

I'm on record as liking the aquisition and I'm fully aware that his penalties will skyrocket because hes no longer a Steeler, but my only concern is affording him when contract time comes.

I know Roseman could make it work, but Jones plays checkers when it comes to cap management.

A 1 year rental is fine when a team is a contender but.....

I watched a Cowboys podcast last night where they mentioned how Dak likes throwing to guys like Pickens/Gallup etc, as opposed to guys like cooks/turpin etc, it's easier for him I should say

Very good problems for the offense. No excuse for anyone not performing. There is talent all over the field. Love Machota's comment on the Cowboys going 4 wide. The addition of Pickens really changes the offense.
Switch out tight end, fullback, and Turpin. 3 WR's being normal with a RB.

Anticipation is thick with this video guy. He's counting eggs before they hatch. I have no doubt what he's saying could be true but it's way too early to propagandizing the way this guy is doing. These young guys need a full training camp in Oxnard and three preseason games to work things out on this offense. Even then, I believe they won't fully gel until a few weeks into the season. Early season losses are completely likely with this Cowboys team, but the talent is there to get it together and go for a long winning streak later in the season. Playoffs are possible this year but in future years, 2026, 2027, I see championships.

I like it, but.....lol!!!

The real problem with Pickens is that if you dont commit and he walks, you have nothing to show for a 3rd round pick. Add to that you are back to square one at WR. Worse yet, Tolbert is also a free agent after the season

To be a good trade, Pickens needs to be extended. Even if he walks and you get a 3rd round comp pick, its practically a 4th rounder and could be outside the top 100. You also dont get it until 2027

Seems alot of whats been posted the last couple weeks is puff and not alot of balanced takes
You believe in mercenaries in today's sporting professionals being rooted religiously? *(sweetie expression)

Another Rome built two minutes before class...

I get where you're coming from, and its fair to rather have the draft pick, but 3rd round value is simply what rental WRs often go for.

Last year Amari Cooper and Davante Adams both went for 3rd round picks. Diggs went for a 2nd. All of them in their walk seasons, or basically in their walk years due to money left in their contracts.

I just think its poor team building. Especially considering what little we have in the pipeline. I hope we exit camp with extentions for Parsons, Pickens and Bland

Have to account for the Bills being a legit contender, and the Jets doing all they could to before entering an immediate rebuild after 2024.

Less painful dealing picks when you’re already built and/or in win-now mode. If this team thinks they are there with this DT room, they are terribly mistaken. Pickens makes way more sense if they did more elsewhere. Maybe they still do but I doubt it.

He undoubtedly makes them better, but still not good enough, and he is likely lost after one shot. Then what? Ah…yes, forced into drafting a certain position yet again.

Not sure it matters because I doubt they ever get it through their heads to not skimp at DT.

I think Jerry plays marbles.
