Best player available. At every single pick. It works out the best

Yes, BPA is the best strategy.

The Cowboys need to have a solid roster before the draft by re-sign their own players and adding a key free agent or two. That allows them to go BPA in the draft. Obviously, there are normally multiple players on a tier and in that case then need can be considered.

Some of those that seem to root for the draft more than the team are probably upset about that..lol

Please, don't make this a fan vs fan thing.

There isn't a Cowboy fan in the world that wants to trade 12-4 for a Top 10 pick.

There may have been some that would have traded 8-8 for a Top 10 pick, but all fans are loving the way the team is playing right now.

Definite option.

But I'm also a fan of having the fifth year option that's included in all first round contracts.

That fifth year is great and very affordable once you are outside of the top ten selections.

Not concrete info, but Ive heard that's why we took Frederick 32 and didnt try to trade down

Maybe.

The team was probably sweating bullets, though, waiting to get back on the clock at #31.

Travis Frederick was the only OL remaining on their draft board with a first or second round grade.

The other 7 players had already been picked.

Kyle Long, one of two OL with third round grades, had also already come off the board.

It was just Frederick and Menelik Watson, the other third round grade.

A little OT, but any chance Ben Gardner comes back healthy? I liked his upside before he got hurt. Hopefully he can come to next year's OTAs 100%.

He should be fine.

“I think this is a surgery for my long-term football career, it needed to happen. It’s fixed now,” he said. “[Romeo] says I have a healthy shoulder now. Going forward it shouldn’t be a problem at all. And I have 100 percent confidence I will be back.”

The expected recovery period was 6 months, which would put Ben Gardner at 100% by late February.

Formal off-season workouts don't start until April 20th.

Gardner will be in a fight to make the roster next training camp, but a spot on the practice squad is also a possibility.

The opportunity awaits.

Best pass rusher available please

Why do people constantly say this? Look at the past draft for pass rushing DTs and DEs taken in the 1st and 2nd rounds: Clowney, Donald, Marcus Smith, Dee Ford, Easley, Hageman, Tuitt, Jernigan, Ferguson, Ealy, and Lawrence. Donald was the only pick who actually did anything this year and he only showed something in the latter half of the season and he was a top 10-ish pick.

The Saints had a top rated defense last year and added a highly sought FA safety and somehow their defense is at the bottom now. The Cowboys defense went from horrible to pretty decent with some changes, experience, and FA additions. Rookie draft picks wouldn't have made a bit of difference for either team.

Best player available regardless of position!

Draft is deep at OL and WR. If they hang on to the pick those are likely to be the highest ranked players on their board at the at time.

Perfectly placed for that DT/DE of our rotational dreams

Saftey or corner too :)

Lber maybe

I like the possibilities

I tend to believe you will find a better OL with this area of the first round. However, I just hope they pick the best available player. Now if someone wants to trade back into the first and give us a 2nd, 4th and even a 1st next year.....well..... But I'd prefer a 32rd pick dilemma...

Two players I really like this year are FL St. OL Cameron Erving and Auburn WR Sammy Coats. I'll happily add those two to the Cowboys.

I am thinking Ronnie Stanley, dark horse Brett Hundley.

As of now I'd like to keep it and IF we lose Murray take Todd Gurley out of Georgia. (Melvin Gordon would be the first choice but he'll be long gone) Gurley is awful darn good guys, despite the ACL. Richt said the other day that he strongly believes that TG will be a FULL go for the combine in April. HIs progress has been spectacular. He would ROLL behind this line guys. After that, I have one more guy we could trade down and into the high second round for: Tevin Coleman of Indiana...PLEASE hear me out. I watch dozens of Big Ten games every fall (live in Michigan) I told anyone that would listen that Fred was a great pick at Center. Then I told anyone that would listen how good Martin was, although most of you already knew.

Lots of Big Ten teams play ND every season and I saw Martin play about 30 times over the years...he was flawless. So please believe me when I say Coleman would be a HELLUVA high 2nd round pick. Cut loose Murray (hurts to type it, but it's true) SIgn Dez and McClain and we're off and running...literally. Having Gurley/Randle/Dunbar would be fine and dandy. Having a trio of Coleman/Randle/Dunbar would work too. Go watch some tape on Coleman: you'll really like what you see.

Coleman is good but how good is the question. The only problem I have is that the Big Ten was a poor conference overall. Not a lot of talent in the Big Ten this year so you have to factor that in with some of these Big Ten players when analyzing film.

Just wondering how they have us 29th. There are 5 teams that are 12-4, and 4 of those teams have byes, all except Dallas. Assuming the top 4 records get picks 32, 31, 30 and 29, wouldn't that leave us at pick 28? So they have the nerve to give us a pick in the bottom 4 of the draft but they don't have the decency to give us a top 4 seed?
