Let me preface this by saying the guy is a complete jerk.
With that said, ATC sometimes tries to get you to do things you aren't comfortable with. There are obviously better ways to handle it. I never actually heard him declare an emergency, just threaten it. Usually if there is a pilot deviation, it depends on the attitude of the person. I know a guy who landed at the wrong airport (oops), which happened to be a military airport. He admitted the mistake he made and offered to share his story with the rest of the company in the form of a presentation about what factors lead to the mistake. The FAA allowed him to do that and get some re-training and he was let off the hook. He is a 747 captain at UPS today.
This guy in the video has a pretty dangerous attitude and I suspect that he won't be very receptive to any kind of remedial training, so he's probably going to get his license yanked and spend a lot of money on attorneys appealing it.
