Manny Lawson is my first choice but if for some reason he's not there, or Parcells goes in another direction, who could we pick up next.
These are my top backup plans for OLB if Lawson isn't there.

Bobby Carpenter - 6'3 (255) 4.6 40*unofficial* - He is the perfect scenario if Lawson weren't around. He has the combination of size/speed/quickness/ and agressiviness. He also has the ability to get after the QB (he had 8 sacks last year) He's a tough SOB and the perfect instincts of a LB. I would love to see him move to the inside and it would be a historic day if we could swip Lawson and Carpenter.

Jeremy Mincey - 6'3 (265) 4.7*
unofficial* - I personally saw this guy play last Saturday and this guy was blowing up Tackles left and right. He ran around them, thru them, he fell down, and chased down a fast QB and sacked him. All in all, he had 3 sacks and tons of pressure. I also think he's extremely quick and powerful. I love Lawson and Carpenter, but I would not cry at all if we picked this guy up.

Stanley McClover - 6'3 (255) 4.5 *unofficial* - You should read up on this guy, he has everything you need to dominate at OLB. He's a tweener that's too small for DE but perfect for the OLB in a 3-4. He's very fast and strong, and gets to the QB like you wouldn't believe. He has great agility which is what you would need to be an OLB and is extremely aggressive.

Chris Gocong 6'3 (265) 4.8
*unofficial* This guy is a sleeper from a small school. But when you look at him getting 18 sacks in a season, it makes you pay attention. He is outstanding off the edge, but his speed might be best suited for an ILB position, or we could try him at OLB. I know this, when he goes after the QB, he can get there.

Kamerion Wimbley 6'4 (255) 4.7
*unofficially* Same thing as the others. Quick and extremely fast around the corner on Tackles. He's very good in opened space which is great for the OLB spot. He never takes plays off, and his motor just runs and runs.

Mark Anderson 6'4 (254) 4.7 *unofficially* 7.5 sacks last year and is aggressive around the corner and great in the opened field as well. He has great pursuit and unbelievable closing speed. Very tenacious and aggressive, and would be an outstanding fit opposite Ware.

As far as I'm concerned, once we get 2 pieces for our OLB core, and a bigger stronger NT, we are on our way to having a Super Bowl defense. All of the parts are in the draft, and our FS is in FA.
If you have any other names to put in the mix, I'd love to hear them.

I actually have us taking Wimbley w/ our 2nd rounder right now. Still could change after his workouts, but I believe he's going to move up the draft boards soon...

If for some reason he's not there I take Ko Simpson or best FS available and Kamerion Wimbley in 2nd .... but we need sign Lecharles Bentley first

Wimbley is a little interesting too. Didn't he come to FSU as a DB or LB? Seems like he was very light when he got to school, so might have some familiarity in coverage...

dont now if he play DB or LB but he fits in 3-4 adn its a hybrid DE/OLB

Notes:
Could be a 3-4 outside linebacker...Entered college at only 210 lbs so he has done a good job of adding weight and has the frame to get bigger still...A classic 'tweener who a team will need to find the right role for...At the very least he should excel as a situational pass rusher...Still has a lot of upside.

I like Carpenter over Lawson (and I believe he is considered a better prospect). He is more of a complete LBer than Lawson. We have our pass rush specialist in Ware, we need someone who adds a bit more in the run stopping department and that is Carpenter. He's also less of a boom/bust type guy - he'll be a day one starter.

In the second, we need to get younger at OT and I would hope Jonathon Scott or Ryuan O'Callaghan is still around. In the third, Babatunde Oshinowo to provide depth at NT. WR or ILB are also options here.

In FA, get FS Will Demps, K Longwell, and C LeCharles Bentley. Re-sign Aaron Gleen, Campbell, and Key.

Why would you re-sign Key and Glenn? They are under contract for next year.

Otherwise, it looks like a good plan to me. I might swap Demps for Hope though.

I'd go for Hope as well. He's only 25, so pay him his dough and solidify this secondary for years to come.

Plan 1A - Lawson

Plan 1B - Carpenter - he's ready made for our scheme. He could walk in day 1 and challenge Fajita for playing time. He may be the best Big 10 Linebacker out there. There are 5-6 Big 10 LB's that are totally over rated in the big picture...... Schlegel not one of them :)

Plan 1C - Look at all the undersized DE's / converts. CoGongo, Haralyson, Anderson, Hali, Wimbly

I thought Aaron Glenn was on a one-year deal, but it looks like it's actually two - cool.

It's been widely reported that Key wants to renegotiate his deal. Apparently it was basically a 2 year deal to begin with and the expectation would be they would come back to the table this off-season.

I think Greenway is a tad overrated.
