It's really simple. Fix Dak and everything else will be fine.
Dak and the run game are interconnected. I don't think you can fix Dak without fixing the run game first. Ideally, a $40M QB would not need it to perform, but we need to be honest with ourselves, he cannot succeed without a proper run game.

It is too late to make any radical changes.

  • Offense
    • 1: Dak will need to run more.
    • 2: Must solve the batted/tipped passes issue.
    • 3: More outside runs for Pollard to stretch defenses horizontally.
    • 4: Quit using Schultz as a blocker.

  • Defense
    • 1: They need a better plan vs running QBs like Tyler Murray.
      • They often used Parsons as a spy on Murray which limited his overall impact on the game.
    • 2: More snaps for Kelvin Joseph.
hope the other teams defense all get the crud..that it LOL jk

#2 on offense: Dak needs to put an arc on his throws or pump fake.

Using our best player on D in such a limited role didn't seem like a good use of him.

NO period , he needs to start throwing long , stop the dinks , thats when you are flat and get betted down, take some shots , loosen up the D and then go for intermediate.

30 running plays regardless. This offense must be balanced. Defenses now expect the pass. Just keep hammering and 2 yard gains will eventually become 7 yard gains. Wear the defense down and keep their offense off the field.

Offense
  • 1: Dak will need to run more. Agreed! And we have to figure out how defenses seem to be able to know our running plays before we even get out of the huddle.
  • 2: Must solve the batted/tipped passes issue. As long as Dak is past his first progression the OL can’t block for that. It’s up to Dak to find a clean passing lane.
  • 3: More outside runs for Pollard to stretch defenses horizontally. Agreed. And Zeke just flat out looks gimpy. His stride looks choppy and he can’t shoot running lanes before they close. Zeke should be used less and Pollard more.
  • 4: Quit using Schultz as a blocker. Amen! He just flat out whiffs on blocks. We’d be better off with Deion trying to make those blocks. Asking any TE to seal the DE so we can pull the guard or tackle is risky and we got burned by it multiple times on Sunday.

Defense doesn't matter? Come on, man

What happened just last year in the big game?

1 game.

Tampa wasn’t some great defense but everyone wants to create a narrative off 1 game.

There is no great defenses in this league. There is some that are good but nothing special. The Cowboys defense is as good as anyone’s. Now we need the offense that has all the big money spent on it to step up.

The best strategy I've seen is to have more points than the other team at the end of the game. Almost every game a team tries scoring less but they've yet to actually win. I've always wondered why almost every single game a team tries to score less points. It's just not effective against teams who score more.

11 personnel and 2 TE set to facilitate deep vertical passing game.

For me:

  1. Reintroduce 12 personnel
    • It extends the line allowing more space to run behind Martin/Collins
    • It simplifies things for Dak pre-snap and limits how much things can be disguised
    • It gives Dak more options for quick releases and reduces tipped balls
    • It gives us more options for play-action and allows us to establish the run.
  2. More targets for Cooper he’s easily our best WR and isn’t getting the opportunities he deserves.
  3. More adjustments/counters - We are telegraphing some of our playbook and defenses are starting to jump routes. We need plays that punish this behavior.
Defensively;
  • I think we need to use Parsons as a rusher more and less in coverage as he’s done recently.
  • I would also like to see Joseph on the field more.

I agree, you are what you are now, try to hide your weaknesses. Perhaps a similar game plan they used against TB opening night. Short passing game got our players in space.

Would like to see more Joseph, Hooker and Wilson.

2: Must solve the batted/tipped passes issue. This issue is 100% due to Kellen M. being very predictable and defenses actually study tap. I will add to 2. and make it 2a: Kellen M. might not be able to adjust to what defenses are doing during game. Maybe Big Mike can step in a bit and give the you man some guidance lol
