How come we haven't seen Witten in the seam down field this year like we used to?

Most of his catches are all underneath for the most part. Did we forget how to do this or is the defenses we are playing dictating it?

I was wondering that weeks ago.

We are keeping him in to block more than we were last year.

It was a huge part of our offense in the last couple of years and now we never see it. It's a bit strange. I can't imagine defenses are taking it away completely.

Nope....we aren't even trying it often enough.

To me it looked like there were some opportunities but Witten broke the route. I'm not saying Witten made a mistake, I'm saying it looked like it could be there and there was another route called.

Either way, I think we need to get back to it.

Just the other day my wife asked me "Why don't we throw the ball to Witten down the field any more?"

I had no answer.

Definitely an issue many of us are wondering.

I dont know. He isn't the fastest so it's possible LB's can run with him down the seam.

I dont know, I do know I'd like to see that come back for sure. I thought with Austin's emergence a few weeks ago we'd get Witten going downfield more.

Dont know why we havent seen more of it.

Yes, but one drive is all pass with the next drive all run .It needs to be more mixed throughout a drive. I am not really complaining , whatever it takes to win, but it did seem like the whole first half was run because everyone said we needed to run more.
