Or make the trade while Jerry is in the bathroom...

I would say while he is beating on his red-headed step-child, but he will already be in the war room with him getting his beat down

Let the draft come to you. Dont get to cute and outsmart yourself.
Depending on whats left on the board I would consider trading back if there is still two to three players you are targeting.

Just see how the Morris Claiborne deal has panned out... don't trust Jerry's judgment at all on trading up or down, don't trust Jerry... period.

If Garrett was an engineer and Jerry was his boss.

I'm preferring to trade down and select a defensive end or tackle at the bottom of the first round like we did with Frederick, and picking up an extra pick.

If we trade up this year, i would assume that it's in the 3rd round or later.

Our last trade up hasn't worked out so well, at least as of yet. Mo has been quite a disappointment. Too bad, as he was my favorite CB in the draft and I was actually pleased when we moved up to get him.

If we were one or two players away from serious SB contention, I would definitely consider trading up, if a player of want is there. However, we have several holes to fill, especially on defense and tons of dead money on the cap (limiting our ability to be a big time player in the FA market).

We need to be frugal with our picks. Instead of trading up and sacrificing multiple picks, I am ok with trading down a few times and adding a few more picks. However, whether we stand pat or trade down, we must make sure and hit on at least 90 to 95% of our picks. We have little room for error since some of our recent drafts have been complete disasters (2009 comes to mind).

J.Clowney or Sammy Watkins are the only elite level worthy of a big tradeup IMO.
Trading down in this draft seems like a given at this stage of talent assessment.

I think this is going to be a QB heavy top ten draft with so few QB's going last year. So that should push some of the top guys on D down closer to us. But I'd like to stay where we are... good value in the middle of a round, you can usually get a top ten talent to fall to you.

I can't say which players are "worth trading up for" without knowing how far we're trading up, what we're paying for the privilege and which other players are still on the board. In general, I'm against trading up in the first round. The return is just too much of an unknown for the price you usually pay.

The player I like in the top-ten, though, is Anthony Barr. If I HAVE to trade up, Barr is the guy.

I disagree with whoever said they don't think Ealy is a top-20 talent. He's big, athletic and explosive, and probably will be gone before we're on the clock when all is said and done.
