Belichek is a genius. He's also a defensive mastermind. He literally runs a hybrid every year with a bunch of random dudes and still fields a great defense. It's remarkable. He's head and shoulders the best coach in the NFL.

Hogan doesn't fit that mold. He is a regular sized receiver. Troy Brown, Wes Welker, Julian Edelman and Danny Amendola are their shorter slot type guys. Amendola has been a bit of a disappointment as the free agent signing intended to replace Welker. Edelman stepped up and filled that role.
