Playoff picture through week 7

...whatever happens, I want to face Rodgers again. Dallas has to smooth the rough edges with GB.

We were among the lucky teams that got the extra bye this season by having Miami on the schedule. A lot of the other good teams aren't so lucky. We need to beat the Rams to at least insure a tie breaker over them since we don't have it with Green Bay and New Orleans. The Eagles schedule also gets really easy near the end so we might need a wild card tie breaker. I think we're still better than the Eagles, but they aren't really as bad as they appeared the other night. They just didn't show up. Kind of like us against the Colts last year.

You pretend to be a fan and don't even know we beat the Seahawks the last time we played them - in the playoffs last year?

You seem to repeatedly make comments like this, apparently thinking that whatever is negative has to be the truth, and you repeatedly prove to have no knowledge of facts. You're like a parrot attempting to repeat whatever you heard or thought you heard from someone else.

Lol. Well, I personally like his game thread posts. They keep me giggling when the wheels are falling off.

It is a tough looking schedule. We are going to have to be more consistent than we have been because a big reason we are in first place in the division because the overall division has been weak.
As is the Patriots division EVERY year!

What other NFC East team is going 12-4, or 11-5 for that matter?

Dallas could very well "squeak in", but as we know all too well advancing is another matter (even with the #1 seed).

I see where I might have chosen my words poorly. I wasn't trying to say Dallas would need 12 wins to make the playoffs. My point was more about how good they have to be going into the playoffs for me to have any confidence in them advancing. Only 3 times since 1995 did I think the Cowboys were serious contenders. 2007, '14, and '16 I thought they had a reasonable shot at making the SB. They all ended in failure, but they were in the mix. So my point is, what do the Cowboys have to do the rest of the way for me to believe they are in the mix for a championship? Go 8-1 the rest of the way.

I think this division will be won at either 8-8 or 9-7. Sweeping the division and 2 more wins gets them at 9. With the inconsistency of this team and the brutal schedule ahead 8-10 wins would be a godsend.

its still now just as possible that the cowboys don't make the playoffs as it is that they make them this team is so inconsistent its hard to know if they will even end up with a winning record

That's putting it mild........with the Giants, Pats, Vikings, and Lions coming up, winning 3 of next 4 would damn near lock up a playoff slot.

We'll be lucky to win 2 of the next 4. Pats and Viks will be extremely tough games, good chance we lose to both of them. Detroit is far better than their record indicates, don't sleep on them. The gmen suck but it's always hard against a division foe and even harder to sweep em.

We haven't beat one winning team yet. Our only non division win is Miami.

This is a BS statement. The reason the Eagles are a losing team IS because we beat them. They were 3-3, not a losing or winning team.
Does the 1st game even count when both teams are 0-0. Hey we are 1-0 but we advent beat a winning team yet.

This beating teams with losing records is a fallacy a good part of the time for any team. Most teams with winning records beaten teams with losing records.
But hey, if you want to use it for a narrative, go ahead.

Right now I'd go this:
Wild Card

3 Ravens over 6 Texans
4 Colts over 5 Bills
3 Packers over 6 Vikings
5 Seahawks over 4 Cowboys
Divisional Round
3 Ravens over 2 Chiefs
1 Patriots over 4 Colts
2 Saints over 3 Packers
5 Seahawks over 1 49ers
Conference Championship
1 Patriots over 3 Ravens
2 Saints over 5 Seahawks
Super Bowl
2 Saints over 1 Patriots

We'll be lucky to win 2 of the next 4. Pats and Viks will be extremely tough games, good chance we lose to both of them. Detroit is far better than their record indicates, don't sleep on them. The gmen suck but it's always hard against a division foe and even harder to sweep em.

The next 7 games will be tough, probably the next 8.

at NYG may be tough just because it is away at a division rival.
At least we have Vovkings at home, and I think we can score on their defense, is is stopping their offense. I am not concerned with Cousins, it is cook and Diggs and Theilen.
at Detroit, always a tough game, and agree they are better than their record. They got screwed in GB.
At NE, enough said
Bills are showing to be a good team, tough defense. But it is at home
at Chicago, again a road game, possibly cold weather, very good defense. But they have no offense as of now.
Home against the Rams, will still be a tough game though they don't seem as strong, but then again they had our D figured out too, will it continue.
Then the 8th game, at Philly, depends on the division / wc race, but we went in and beat them before there, but that is no guarantee.

With the way this team has been this year, we could be in for the same ups and downs. They can beat any and all of these teams, but lose to them just as well.
5-2 over the nest 7 going into Philly would be considered great. But can they do it.
