Playoff picture through week 7

The next 7 games will be tough, probably the next 8.

at NYG may be tough just because it is away at a division rival.
At least we have Vovkings at home, and I think we can score on their defense, is is stopping their offense. I am not concerned with Cousins, it is cook and Diggs and Theilen.
at Detroit, always a tough game, and agree they are better than their record. They got screwed in GB.
At NE, enough said
Bills are showing to be a good team, tough defense. But it is at home
at Chicago, again a road game, possibly cold weather, very good defense. But they have no offense as of now.
Home against the Rams, will still be a tough game though they don't seem as strong, but then again they had our D figured out too, will it continue.
Then the 8th game, at Philly, depends on the division / wc race, but we went in and beat them before there, but that is no guarantee.

With the way this team has been this year, we could be in for the same ups and downs. They can beat any and all of these teams, but lose to them just as well.
5-2 over the nest 7 going into Philly would be considered great. But can they do it.

Detroit is gonna be tough, I think they're still probably pissed about that playoff game a couple of years ago.
Pats are the best team in the league, again. And this time it's their defense.
The Viks D is really good, I think we will struggle to put up 20-24 pts against them. Not sure we can keep Cook out of the end-zone after Theilen and Diggs catch the long passes that our DB's didn't turn their heads to locate.
Chi D is sick, really good. We will be lucky to score more than 17-20 on them, yes their offense is junk, but it will be super tough to win there.
Bills D is very solid and pretty good against the run. It's gonna be tough sliding all game. Their offense is weak but they like to run it, we struggle stopping the run.
Rams are still very good and adding Ramsey is going to help their back end a lot. He can probably shut Cooper down and they can keep Zeke from controlling the game. Can we stop Gurley at all, or contain Kupp, Woods, Cooks and Everett?

road games vs the gmen, igglets and skins will always be tough games regardless of the records.

As they're currently playing, they'll be lucky to finish with a 9-7 record. They need to step it up.

This is a BS statement.
If by BS statement you mean an undeniable fact, then sure.

Every single team we have beaten has a losing record. The importance or relevance of that fact might be debatable, but it is still a fact.

For most of us around here, there's not going to be any real excitement or optimism unless and until we start beating good teams. New York, Washington, and Miami are absolute trash, and Philly is mediocre at best. We lost to the only two good teams we've played, and got beat by another trash team.

How one feels about the playoff chances relies on whether they think "once a team gets in, anything can happen" is true or not. I do not. I think how this team plays against MIN, DET, NE, BUF, CHI and LAR will tell us about the playoff chances. I do think they can win the division with 9 wins unless the Eagles turnaround but that doesn't mean I think they can win one playoff game.

I want to see this offense up against good D's that they'll be facing the rest of the season with MIN, NE, BUF and CHI to get a better feel for this team. I still don't have a good handle on them.

This is a BS statement. The reason the Eagles are a losing team IS because we beat them. They were 3-3, not a losing or winning team.
Does the 1st game even count when both teams are 0-0. Hey we are 1-0 but we advent beat a winning team yet.

This beating teams with losing records is a fallacy a good part of the time for any team. Most teams with winning records beaten teams with losing records.
But hey, if you want to use it for a narrative, go ahead.
More excuses. One mediocre team beats another. lol We had 2 chances to beat elite teams and we failed. We'll see what happens later but don't tell me the Eagles are any good.

That's putting it mild........with the Giants, Pats, Vikings, and Lions coming up, winning 3 of next 4 would damn near lock up a playoff slot.
You're forgetting the bears, bills and the lambs. To me they're all 50/50 games.
.
The way it looks right now NFC champs can be 9-7.

I'm thinking if Dallas doesn't go 12-4 they're done. To squeak in at 9-7 or 10-6 won't cut it. Don't expect miracles from this team. I want to see this Cowboys team come out like they did in 2016 and methodically defeat each team one by one with minimal bumps in the road. All 12-4 records are not equal. If this team wins their games minus maybe against the Patriots, I could honestly say, yeah, they're a SB contender.

I don't know why but I feel like Dallas is going to win that Patriots game and lose against another "cupcake" like team. Like the Giants, or the Commanders. Maybe even the Bears (even though their defense is still top notch. 11-5 or 10-6 is the ceiling for this team. That's just how this team operates. 12-4 is not even possible with this team at this point because of their inconsistency. So, if we were to go 10-6, since it won't cut it, what do you suppose we do?

Then we wait until next season. Dallas won't be even sniffing the SB if that's the case. Look, the Cowboys haven't surprised anyone in the playoffs since 1975. In fact, they have been upset a ton more times than have upset their opponent in the playoffs. The Cowboys just don't do that. They need to be a top seed and dominating going into the playoffs.
