The Dallas Cowboys? Is the second seed easier to obtain, should Saints falter? :star:

The Saints will have to lose 2 out of the next 3 (Was/NYG/Car) for us to get the #2 seed.

I think we'll win out and get the #3.

The Giants will win out and get the #5.

So we'll end up playing Atlanta at home in the first round. And then travel to New Orleans.

The Giants will beat Seattle. Then they'll beat the Bears, and travel to either N.O. or Dallas for the NFC Championship.

Yes, but we would have to finish one game ahead of the Saints for it to happen which means they have to lose 2 of their last 3 while we win out, or lose all 3 of their last games while we win 2 of 3.

Not likely.

I agree that Dallas will end up with the #3 seed and should handle whoever the #6 seed is.

Dallas will then have to go to NO regardless of what happens with the #4-#5 matchup....

Remember last year we all hoped Commanders would lose one of their final games so that we can get in??? Asking NO to lose two is too much to ask now and I am not holding my breath for it.

#1 Bears
#2 Saints
#3 Cowboys
#4 Seahawks
#5 Giants
#6 Eagles/falcons/49ers/vikings etc (one of 8-8 teams)

Yeah, it looks like we will travel to NO after all. Gints will knock seahawks off but lose in Chicago.

It looks like AFC is going to win again. All three NFC teams have obvious flaws (we and NO have no defense while chicago has no offense)

I hope Dallas wins more than 2 of 3 because if they don't, they leave the door open for the Giants to win the division.

Also, Dallas blew their best chance to get the #2 seed. You should never leave yourself in a position of hoping for other teams to lose. Do your own dirty work and win the games. It happened last season just to get in the playoffs and now it has happened this season for the #2 seed. They just need to win out.

We have to beat Atlanta. Period. Then next week we will all be talking about T.O. and Jeff Garcia! My, what a great Christmas present! Dallas vs. Philly on Christmas Day. Life doesn't get any better that that does it? PINCH ME!

I would normally tend to agree, but look at the past history this year when opposing teams have had "big" games against us, and won. The Saints win over us was complete with a Gatorade bath for Payton. This doesn't bode well for the Saints.

The Eagles beat us, and they proceeded to go on a losing skid. The Giants beat us, and they proceeded to go on a losing skid. The Commanders beat us, and I think they've won 1 game since. The Jags looked like world beaters against us in week 1, and they are struggling to get into the playoffs.

I think the Saints are next. The south Louisiana mindset is deadly. As they say down here: "Laissez les bon temps roulet."

Translation: "Let the good times roll."

It wouldn't surprise me to see the Saints drop a game or two before the playoffs.

#2 seed would be sweet but if someone told me at the beginning of the year we would switch QB's halfway thru and end up as the #3 I'd have taken that in a NY minute.

We can only hope. It's a shame to need help from the rest of the league, but I will be rooting for whoever plays the Saints from here on out.

The odds are against us in obtaining that second bye. Saints still have the inside track, though they still have to play SD. But their win against us gives them the leg up.

Let's hope for a Saints stumble along the way.

We still have to win out. Falcons and Eagles will be fighting for their playoff lives. Neither team will lay down for us.

Garcia is playing well in Philly. We're going to have our hands full.

Every game is going to be important ... including the Lions game in the season finale.

Might actually be tough having to beat them the 2nd time in about 2 weeks.

I don't think Atlanta makes the playoffs. If we beat them tomorrow (which we should), they'll be 7-7 with games remaining against Carolina and Philadelphia. They could end the season 7-9. Carolina is 6-7 and will be 8-8 at best.

Philadelphia will almost certainly be the 6th seed. Even if they lose against the Giants and lose against us, if they beat Atlanta they'll be 8-8 with tie-breakers over both Carolina and Atlanta (having beat them both head to head).

If we win out, as we should, then we're probably the 3rd seed with a home game against Philadelphia. I like that a whole lot better than being the 4th seed with a home game against the Giants.

If we lose tomorrow, all bets are off, and we are probably looking at an NFC East road game in January :)eek:)

I wouldnt pencil in Seattle yet. Highly unlikely they wont win but I wouldnt count sf completely out. They were very impressive last night.

I also wouldnt count out new orleans losing 2 of their last three. Seriously.

If we win out I think all will take care of itself and we will be in a good spot. If we lose any of these three games I think we will be in a bad dogfight.

If we lose 2 I think we are as good as out.

Just beat atlanta and we will be ok I believe.
