Green Bay has to beat the Detroit lions. I don’t know why people are assuming that is going to happen. The lions are capable of winning that game

Game's in GB, add in the freezing weather, cheesehead crowd and fact that Lions are an indoor team & it's gonna be extremely tough for Det to walk outta there with a W.

49ers aren’t losing next week so either we’re knocked out in the first round by Brady or Rodgers. Eagles losing today screwed us from much needed rest. Pass rush will continue to be nonexistent in the playoffs.

Assuming Philly beats the Giants that have nothing to play for now, I hope the Packers beat the Lions, they then play the 49ers in in the first round.

We need somebody to knock out the 49ers, we will have zero chance if we play them.

Dallas as the #2 seed may be the best case scenario for the Cowboys.

Wildcard round

#2 Dallas defeats #7 seed (GB, SEA, or DET)
#3 seed Vikes beat #6 seed Giants
#5 seed Eagles beat #4 seed Bucs

Divisional round

#2 seed Dallas beats #3 seed Vikes
#5 seed Eagles defeat #1 seed 49ers

Dallas hosts NFC Championship game against Eagles.
Like you said, if the Eagles lose to the Giants next weekend, the Cowboys can't get the #1 playoffs seed since the 49ers won today and definitely are not going to lose next weekend against the Cardinals. This means the 49ers would get the #1 playoff seed while the Cowboys get the #2 seed. The Cowboys don't want to get the #2 seed, because that means we would have to play against Aaron Rodgers and the Packers (#7 seed) in the wildcard round.

It would be best if the Cowboys stay at the #5 wildcard spot. This way the #7 seed Packers would play whomever is the #2 playoff seed (whether the Eagles or the 49ers). Let Aaron Rodgers and the Packers play and beat that #2 seed while the Cowboys play the #4 seed easier Buccaneers. Once the Packers beat the #2 seed, they will have to play whomever ends up as the #1 playoff seed. Meanwhile, the Cowboys would play the easier #3 Vikings or #6 Giants (whomever wins their wildcard match) in the second round Divisional Round.

If the Packers beat the #1 seed in the 2nd round (divisional) AND the Cowboys beat either the #3 seed Vikings or #6 seed Giants (whichever wins the wildcard match), the Cowboys would host the Packers for the NFC Championship Game (round 3).

That's the easier and best route to the Super Bowl.

Yeah, SF aint losing to the sorry arse Cardinals so people can forget about the #1 seed pipedream.

We are either #2 and host Green Bay or we are #5 and play at Tampa.

Let's just say we get #5 and the WC teams are us, Giants, Packers and Philly gets #1 seed.

Giants get Vikings I think Giants can win
Packers get 49ers, no idea who wins that one
We get Brady

If we win and both Giants and Packers lose, we go to Philly
If we win and Giants win and Packers lose, we go to San Francisco
If we win and Packers win and Giants lose, we go to San Francisco
If we win and both Giants and Packers win, we would play the Giants in a home game and Packers would go to Philly

If we lose, who cares what happens after

Just to throw the AFC into the mix, 5 of the 7 playoff spots are clinched, although seeding is still up for grabs.

For the bottom 5 teams who have not clinched a playoff spot:

Jaguars win or tie, and they will be the #4 seed.
Titans win and they will be the #4 seed.
Patriots beat the Bills, and they will be the #7 seed OR Patriots lose and Dolphins and Steelers also lose, and the Patriots win the #7 seed.
Dolphins must beat Jets, and have the Patriots lose or tie to get the #7 seed.
Steelers must beat the Browns, and have both the Patriots and Dolphins lose or tie to get the #7 seed.

So what you're saying is if Tampa and the Giants both win or lose next week then their seedings won't change got it!
