These percentages seem rather dubious as how could they factor in things like injuries, teams resting players, etc.?

I don't believe it even factors in losses by teams ahead of us when they have to play each other.

Doesn't matter. We need to win out, and we need help. But it's doable.

Damn right, it’s doable.

Even after beating Washington last night to improve to 6-6, the Cowboys have just a 3% chance to make the playoffs according to FPI.

According to NFLN Thursday night, a teams at 5-6, the winner goes to 6-6, goes to the playoffs 29.6% of the time, and the loser drops to 4.7%
So does this mean ll those other teams we are competing with have that same 3% If things go right today, there will be 4 teams or whatever with a 3% chance to get one spot?

I don't see the reasoning to limp into the playoffs and give this organization a false sense of security.

The only way I could find it palatable is if they blow out Seattle on out through regular season and then get into the NFCC somehow.

But we know that is not going to happen.

I am not one of those that believe "just getting into the tournament" matters a whole lot.

Nobody remembers a wildcard loser.
or a one and done first round loser with hfa through out the playoffs
