Playoff Scenario?

Ways Dallas can win the division:

No help: Win at home against the Eagles, on the road at the Giants
Giants lose 1 of next 2: Win on the road at TB, on the road at Giants
Giants lose 2 of next 2: Win any two of remaining 3 games OR Win on the road at Giants and Eagles lose to NYJ or Was (both home games for Eagles)

It's not that dire, but I think we'll have to beat the Giants in week 17. I expect the Giants will lose one of the next 2, but not both.

That hurt my head thinking of all that. Win 3 games we are in, lose and now we have to depend on others.

We don't have to beat TB. That game is irrelevant if you assume that NYG beat Was and NYJ.

Right now in my view no game is irrelevant. I think if you asked this team they would say the same thing. We have 3 games this team needs to get back to winning games.

I don't mean irrelevant in any sense except computing probabilities that we win the division. Other than in that sense, I agree with you.

Technically, no we don't have to beat TB, but this team is so mentally weak that we do need to beat TB or they will all start quitting on us.

So, beating TB in EPIC fashion is extremely important. It could get us on the roll we need to be on. Kinda like 2009.

Giants would have to lose next two finishing 8-8 and we would have to win our next two, finishing at 9-7

We also could get a wild card even if we lose to the Giants.

No.
If the Giants win the next two, we must beat Phili and the Giants to be in.
We can lose to Tampa next week and we still control our own destiny.

If we lose to Tampa , we have no business to be anywhere near Playoffs !

Like the Packers after losing to the 2-10 Lions last year?

Realistically it comes downt to beating both the Eagles and the Giants. Umm... Yeah, good luck, Boys.

This is a fun site to check all the scenarios. The Eagles can still win the division. Arizona is very likely to get one wild card spot if they win out yet our local media acted as if that were a bye week for us.

the espn one is better. (just looks better) LOL

However there is also a chance, slim one...but a chance, Dallas could be 9-7 and get the 6th seed.

My hope of any of this, and believe me, my sails just blew off the boat Sunday night after the game.....but the hope is for Washington to play their best game of thier season and beat the ginats, after Dallas beats Tampa Sat Night....Geeeez, if they cant, then what are we really holding on to here in Dallas........then next week at home, the cowboys rebound from thier last home game (puke) and beats Philly, while the JETS..playing fior thier playoff lives....beat the giants. This, leaving that week 17 game to mean absolutely nothing, but Dallas plays through it anyway to remain sharp and beats the giants in NY......

That and prolly only that will make me confident in a playoff run, however if they scratch their way in anyway possible, i really dont think they would lose to Atlanta in any case, who i feel will be the #5 seed.

Even though the cowboys painfully ripped my heart out Sunday Night....and through the bad games they have lost this season. Jets, Lions and Cardinals......I am juts stupid enough still, to honestly believe they are better then and will beat atlanta.......

Call me crazy

and other teams i feel as if they can beat are:

S.F, Nawlen Saints and the Detroit Lions.

I am at least honest enough with myself through this season to know that they cant beat the Packers.

LMAO

Giants fans thought the same thing, and their team was tied with the Packers with one minute in regulation. The Packers aren't some iron wall in the NFL. They're certainly the best, but not "out of this league" good. Remember when they beat a Christian Ponder led team by 6?

as much as i do understand what you are saying, i just cant see it. The amount of damage done by Eli (400 yards and a last (5 or so) minute Drive for a TD to win it) just kiilled most of my dreams of Dallas being able to stop anyone much less GB and Rodgers....I only say they can beat the Saints, purely based on hiow they match up with them and how well Demarcus Ware seems to play VS them......I think he would sack Brees 3 times......

Question is: How big of a 4th quarter lead would Dallas have to have over GB to be safe from a comeback? Honestly?

If Green Bay fails to execute, 1 point. I hate to constantly be pointing out facts, but nothing in the NFL is etched in stone.

We had less than stellar teams end undefeated seasons for the Colts and Saints in recent years and I am sorry, but I don't think the Packers are all that superior to those two teams.

I wouldn't be surprised by this. The Commanders have been better lately and the Giants aren't as good at home for some reason. I do know that this will not be a show up and win kind of game for the Giants. The Commanders won't lay down for them.

I can go with this........and i really do think the entire thing changes once the tournament starts and the records go to Zero and Zerpo for all.....

I just hope Dallas can get there, because at 34-22 I was running around my house like a mad man proclaiming to all that would hear me....(my wife and son both trying to sleep) that Dallas was NFCE champs and headed for a successful post season.

I still hold out a lot of hope that they will.....

Romo summed it up for me.

Just go out Saturday and play their best game of the season......

All you can ask for. I coach HS Football and it is all i can ask for week to week, and after a loss and adversity, its all you can do to pout forth your best effort from the very next practice session till the kick off of the next game
