Playoff scenarios involving Dallas

The important thing to remember guys is if Dallas wins the last 2 games, they are the NFC Eastern Division Champs!!!!

If we lose to the Skins, we are screwed. WE DO NOT CONTROL OUR DESTINY WITH A LOSS TO THE SKINS!!!!

We will have to hope either Green Bay loses or the Giants lose. If they both win out, we are sitting home.

Bottom line.......If we lose to the Skins, we probably dont make playoffs.

The good news is that both of these games will be over and Dallas will know by kickoff what the situation is for them..... They should still keep focused and kick Washington -- but the playoff picture may be a little clearer by game time.

GB looks like they will be one wild card. Any loss Cowboys or Giants may knock them out.

Cowboys, Eagles, and Giants all fighting for last two spots. Giants & Eagles are at home this week against weaker teams. Cowboys on the road against division rival.

Eagles and Giants on the road for the last game. Cowboys at home, against Eagles which will probably decide division and playoff seeding. We can back in if Vikings beat Giants...

What, you want me to take a snapshot of the paper, upload it, and post it? I wrote the parts, as my post title indicated, regarding DALLAS, verbatim. I didn't bother to include the entire NFL. Now go away. Far.

Yes take a pic and post it. I have that paper and it does not say that. I can post a pic if you don't.

I have very little faith that anybody is going to help us out. I am convinced that both Green Bay and the Giants are going to win out.

Thus, we either win both or we miss the playoffs at 10-6.

Of the list of tiebreakers, what is the farthest down the list that has actually occured to determine who goes to the playoffs? I wouldn't know where to begin to look, but someone might be interested enough...?

I think a coin toss was used one year to determine a playoff spot, cant remember the year or the teams however.

You would be amazed at how much the media doesn't understand about playoff scenarios and seedings.

Just an example, when I was leaving New Orleans on Monday, the local radio guy on WWL AM 870 in New Orleans claimed that the Eagles had already cemented themselves as NFC East champions with their win last weekend. He called the Dallas win over the Saints a win for a desperate team clinging to their final hope for the playoffs.

Bitter much, Saint's fans? :laugh2:

that is so high school.......im surprised they didnt use # of penetrations (which means # of times in the opponents red zone) to determine who advances in the event of a tie.

The ironic thing about this scenario is that a win in the Eagles game could get us a bye and a loss could keep us out of the playoffs altogether.

That is the way it was for Washington back in 1979 when we beat them in Roger Staubach 's last regular season game. Man, if blow 17-0 and 34-21 leads like they did I think I will have an aneurysm.

You bet our coaches fully know this and so do our players.

It really seems like The Eagles, Giants and GB all have very winnable games. If Dallas, the Eagles, Giants and GB all win this weekend and the Vikes are upset by the Bears, that is going to make one heck of a set of games the following weekend:

NY @ Minn (NY has chance to get in with win and Dallas or GB loss, while Minn clinches the second seed and a first round Bi with a win)

GB @ Arizona (GB is in with a win while Arizona would still have an outside chance at a first round Bi with Eagles and Vikings loss)

Philly @ Dallas (Winner wins the Division and possibly a first round Bi, while Dallas may not make the playoffs if they lose)

Pretty much the best I can do with only my camera phone with me. Now, I will say that yes, they had sub-sections of "IF the Giants win" and "IF the Commanders win" as scenarios for the affected teams. I clipped out the entire "IF the Commanders win" sub-sections as it was no longer applicable. Other than that, it was verbatim. Wish the below were more legible, sorry.

Bungarian, if you can get a clearer shot post it.

And then quit you're trolling ways after I'm proved right about what I said.

If we win out we win the division. simple as that. There are no excuses for not winning out except that we don't have the heart or cojones to do it.

I'm with you. Just win. Simply don't rely on what other teams do. They don't have to. They control their own destiny.

After last season, this is a real shot at redemption for the Dallas players. Last year everybody questioned their heart. It's time for them to show what they got.

Truer words have never been spoken. I do feel that this team has turned a corner, but I'm hoping they prove it on the field.

For all of those who asked what a BIG game was, this next one is it. From here out, we really need to go on a 5 or 6 game winning streak.

If we can't, it's all a moot point. Doomsday, kick in again !
